FIRENZE - ITALY

Florence, or Firenze in Italian, is a city in central Italy that has a rich history dating back to the Roman era. It is widely regarded as the birthplace of the Renaissance and is home to many famous works of art and architecture, including Michelangelo's David statue and Brunelleschi's dome on the Duomo. One of the most interesting facts about Florence is that it was ruled by the powerful Medici family for centuries, who were major patrons of the arts and played a significant role in the city's cultural and economic growth. Additionally, Florence was home to many famous historical figures, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, and Dante Alighieri. Another interesting fact is that Florence was once the capital of Italy, from 1865 to 1871, before Rome took over as the capital. Finally, the city is also known for its delicious cuisine, including the famous Florentine steak, and its beautiful natural surroundings, such as the rolling hills of Tuscany.

There is much to explore in Florence, the historical buildings, museums, cafes, and more. We even had the chance to join the city bike tour... cycling around the city and visiting nearby vineyards. Learning bout their vine varieties and, of course, sampling them too! It was a truly memorable trip that we'd never forget. Just as Henry James once said, "Everything about Florence seems to be colored with a mild violet, like diluted wine." Enjoy!

Oh, Firenze. I have never visited it, although we every summer drive through Italy and stay in some cities. I think I will have to add this one on my bucket list for some of the next times :))

The sunflower is very cute :)

Thank you @mipiano , Definitely and don't forget the wine tour :)

Italian cities have something special, I haven't been to this place but I've been to another part of Italy and yes, each one has its own magic.

Thank you @triplug , we've been almost covered Europe and by far Italy is the only country that is very "historical places intense".

You're right Italy besides being amazing has an impressive history.
