Malacca, also known as Melaka, is a city in Malaysia known for its rich history and cultural heritage and was a major trading port during the 15th and 16th centuries. As a result, it has been influenced by various cultures, including Chinese, Indian, and European. This is reflected in the city's architecture, which includes a mix of traditional Malay, Chinese, and European styles. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2008 for its well-preserved historic buildings and landmarks, such as the A Famosa fortress, St. Paul's Hill, and the Cheng Hoon Teng temple. Additionally, Malacca is known for its delicious street food, which reflects its diverse cultural influences.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the rich history and heritage reflected in the city's architecture. The mix of traditional Malay, Chinese, and European styles was truly captivating, and I found myself constantly stopping to take in the sights, aromas, and sounds around me. The delicious street food I tried in Malacca was a real treat for my taste buds. The food reflected the city's diverse cultural influences, and I truly appreciate the city's rich cultural heritage and diversity. As William Gibson said, "In Malacca, the buildings were like melting cake, with all the rich details running down into the street." Enjoy!

I love such areas, the capital Kuala Lumpur comes to mind, so much history, fascinating traditions, maybe one day I will experience this part of the world.
Thank you for the virtual tour of this place.

Thank you @triplug ! Malacca is around 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur to the south, and lots of small and interesting town along the way too.

You're welcome.
Malacca, Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur are wonderful places waiting to be discovered, and I would be very excited to spend at least 10 days here.

You might also consider visiting Georgetown in Penang island.

Thanks for the tip.

que hermoso, como me gustaría conocer estos lugares tan hermosos

Gracias @sarayscristina ! There are number of places in South East Asia that retain the historical building and cultures, and Malacca is one of them.

I love that the water is so accessible there :) ... What are those guys loading in the wheelbarrow?

That is a nice view of the houses and the water.

Gracias @larryparra ! It's interesting to know about your student who moved to Malaysia. Generally Malaysia is a relax country with lots of forest and small and old cities which often look charming with interesting heritage history. :)
