First Trip of 2024 - A Month in Hong Kong

in Pinmapple3 months ago

Hi Everyone,

At the end of next week, I will be heading back to Hong Kong with my family, two children in tow, and I will be going back for a whole month. It's my children's first time but I've been back several times in my life; saying that it'll be my first time visiting Hong Kong Disneyland which I am very excited about. The last time I was in Hong Kong was back in 2018, so it's been a really long time since I've been.

My family are from Hong Kong, I was born in the UK, and we still have family who still live out there hence why we visit. This time we are going to be doing all the tourist attractions as firstly, I've never done that and also my children's father will be coming back with us who has never been out to Hong Kong either.

The thing I am most excited about is all the food that there is to offer out there. My children are going through a phase where they absolutely love roast duck and rice, my dad cooks a very good roast duck, so they will be able to eat as much as they like. My favourite is the dim sum out there, it's my favourite to have for lunch time especially the siu mai which are steamed dumplings or the English call them money parcels (or at least my takeaway customers did).

I'll be visiting the family village my father grew up in which I haven't been to for several years, but when I was younger I remember playing around the village, meeting relatives I had never met before and didn't understand how we were related. I'll also be staying in the family village that my mother grew up in which will be really good to see where she and her siblings grew up as well as showing my children too.

We will be doing tourist activities as I have mentioned before, visiting places that I have not been to or even know they existed as well as taking lots and lots of photos. I always find when I am on holiday I forget to take photos because I'm preoccupied with making sure my kids aren't running off but with several helping hands this time it may be possible.

It'll be interesting to see what I get up to as I have always stayed in Kowloon, always in the heart of Hong Kong but this time I'll be on the outskirts. There will be a lot of walking and because of the lack of space in Hong Kong I won't be taking my double stroller, I've resorted to a baby carrier that will be strapped on my back and a compact stroller as my son can get lazy at times. Plus, it's a long time for a 3 year old to walk with nowhere near to rest.

I hope you'll follow my journey this next month, I really need to get better at this blogging, but I need to see it like it's a digital scrapbook that my kids will be able to look back on.

Until next time, stay tuned.

I hope so too. Definitely need to clear my phone out so I can free some space for photos and videos. I'm wondering how they'll cope with the heat as well!

I’ll like to come along anyways I love your contents

Thank you, I'll try my best to document everything I do in that time!

It’s very nice that you are sharing this experience with your children this time. If you have been there many times, it means that you really like the place, and it’s always nice to share it with people you love :D
