While exploring the beautiful city of Prague. And we came across the stunning Church of Our Lady of the Snow. And we were drawn to the timeless beauty. Walking around the courtyard in the quiet morning and the place carried stories from the past. A simple walk going to the courtyard was so peaceful. That day we visited it was not that crowded . Then we found ourselves stepping into a beautiful old church. From the moment we arrived in Prague, it welcomed us with busy streets and people going through different directions.

The church immediately surrounded us with serenity during our visit on the second day. The Church of Our Lady of the Snows was built in 1347 and stands near Jungmann Square in Prague. The Franciscans operated the church and known for its remarkably high vaults in the city.
The church exterior design with its pale façade looked simple. The focal point of the church’s interior was the Madonna and Child. An iconic representation of the Virgin Mary holding Jesus. The front door was decorated dark stone archway added a dramatic touch for its interior design. I was truly impressed by the bright colors, the skillful craftsmanship and all in exterior was simply beautiful.

Stepping inside, the peaceful atmosphere greeted us. Cool air, quiet, carrying the faint scent of wood and old stone and the natural light filtering through high glass stained-glass windows. The sound of my footsteps was softer and the church seemed to slow down. The walls around me felt alive and whispered memories of faith, devotion, and centuries of history. My eyes were instantly pulled toward the grand Baroque altar. A masterpiece of gold and black, dark hues and statues, and detailed paintings blended beautifully. Every carved stone and wood felt like a living monument and testament to enduring faith.

We took a seat on one of the wooden pews and we prayed after taking time to simply absorb the atmosphere. As I looked around, there were smaller altars on the sides and were just as beautiful. I was captivated by the artwork with statues and framed paintings, creating a stunning visual display and I could say that the artist effort poured into every figure were extraordinary.

Prague’s iconic beauty is everywhere with full of grand sights. But this quiet visit to the Church of the Lady of the Snow felt especially meaningful. Leaving the church, we carried with us a quiet sense of peace and reflection. Aya and I took last picture, a photo to remember this beautiful experience we'll always cherish. 💞
