ENGLISH

The feeling of finding new places is nice, and more so when they are in your city, because you realize that you still have a long way to go to know it, when you think you do.

This happened to me when I found the restaurant Ruta 66 La Entrada, in Naguanagua, Venezuela.

It is a thematic space, inspired by the biker culture, where you really believe you are on US Highway 66, which has been mentioned in the world pop culture in books, series and movies.

It is located in La Entrada, an area of Venezuela that is located in the outskirts of the city, and is full of houses dating from the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Thus, it could be said that this restaurant is inspired by the famous American route, characterized for many as a symbol of the border.

In fact, the restaurant was conceptualized in a house that dates back approximately 120 years, says its owner, Lía Sandoval.

She, along with her husband and business partner, were in charge of restoring the old and spacious house, which enjoys an enviable climate, because La Entrada, unlike other places in the region, is cold and fresh, and surrounded by mountains.

The project took years to complete. Even in the beginning the restaurant was private and only opened its doors for special occasions such as parties, meetings and celebrations.

Now, since recently, it is open to the public to enjoy not only delicious and cheap pizzas or beers, but also soups in the best Venezuelan style, among other dishes inspired by American culture, as well as all its decor, where a piano and many vintage ornaments stand out. It is also a gallery where works of art of yesteryear can be appreciated.

Bikers and rockers usually go to this place, where there are also live musical presentations.

Being in the restaurant La Ruta 66 makes you think you are not in Venezuela, but in a place away from the routine.
