A tour? Of course!

To the beach again? Yes, of course. Because one of our most beautiful things are the long miles of beaches and seas that border much of our Venezuelan territory. Last February 25, I got a message late at night: there were 5 spots left for a tour to Playa Patanemo: $10 per person and there was a meeting point right in front of my building. So I ran out to tell my sister and texted @jauregui98 to ask them if they wanted to and the answer was immediate, we're going. The trip was Sunday the 27th, prior to Carnival Monday and Tuesday, and they would pick us up at 6:45 am at the established point. On Saturday we set out in search of the knick-knacks and a few little things we needed for the trip.

The day came, we woke up early, Jau slept with his clothes on to just get up and go (smart). This day started a bit weird because it rained all night, but the trip organizer reassured us and said that everything was going to be fine and that it would not rain during the day. As soon as they announced that the bus was on its way to the site, we went down to the point where there were already some people at the site and a few minutes later we saw the bus crossing at the corner.

¿Un tour? ¡Claro que sí!

¿A la playa otra vez? Pues sí. Porque de nuestras más hermosas cosas son los largos kilómetros de playas y mares que bordean gran parte de nuestro territorio venezolano. El pasado 25 de febrero, me llegó un mensaje en horas de la noche: quedaban 5 puestos para un tour a Playa Patanemo: 10 $ por persona y había un punto de encuentro que quedaba justo frente a mi edificio. Así que salí corriendo a decirle a mi hermana y le mandé un mensaje a @jauregui98 para preguntarles si querían y la respuesta fue inmediata, nos vamos. El viaje era el domingo 27, previo a lunes y martes de carnaval, y nos recogerían a las 6:45 am en el punto establecido. El sábado nos lanzamos a la búsqueda de las chucherías y de algunas cositas que necesitábamos para el paseo.

Llegó el día, nos despertamos temprano, Jau durmió con la ropa puesta para solo pararse e irse (inteligente). Este día empezó un poco raro porque llovió toda la noche, pero la organizadora del viaje nos tranquilizó y dijo que todo iba a salir bien y que no llovería en el día. En cuanto avisaron que ya el bus iba en marcha al sitio, bajamos al punto donde ya había algunas personas en el sitio y unos minutos después veíamos el autobús cruzando en la esquina.

What I love about these tours is that they have organized everyone in their respective seats, we were given the seats in the same row, obviously we go warm because in those buses there is air conditioning that goes at full speed.

Lo que me encanta de estos tours es que tienen organizados a todos en sus respectivos puestos, a nosotros nos dieron los puestos en una misma hilera, obviamente vamos abrigados porque en esos autobuses hay aire acondicionado que va a todo dar.

Station El Palito.

One of the things that the tour offered us was a 10 minute stop at a very popular place in the area called El Palito, here everything starts, it is a crossroads from which we can go to different destinations. This point is ideal for last minute shopping or just to eat the popular empanadas of El Palito. As I was only given 10 minutes to shop, I could only order to go, but I could not leave without eating the famous dogfish empanadas in one of the many stalls located on the side of the road. All the stands were full of people asking for their food, but fortunately I managed to get an unoccupied one.

Una de las cosas que nos ofrecía el tour era una parada de 10 minutos en un sitio muy popular de la zona llamado El Palito, aquí inicia todo, es una encrucijada desde la que podemos ir a distintos destinos. Este punto es propicio para hacer compras de último minuto o simplemente comer las populares empanadas de El Palito. Como solo me dieron 10 minutos para comprar, solo pude pedir para llevar, pero no me podía quedar sin comer las famosas empanadas de cazón en uno de los muchos puestos ubicados al lado de la carretera. Todos los puestos estaban llenos de personas que pedían su comida, pero afortunadamente conseguí uno desocupado.

On the road:

Once breakfast in my hands and mounted on the bus, we proceeded with our journey. We skirted Puerto Cabello heading east. This whole road surprised me, besides having spectacular views, the road was full of curves that would test the strongest stomach, fortunately there was no problem with any of our tour companions.

Una vez con el desayuno en mis manos y montada en el autobús, proseguimos con nuestro viaje. Bordeamos Puerto Cabello en dirección al este. Toda esta carretera me sorprendió, además de tener unas vistas espectaculares, la carretera estaba llena de unas curvas que pondrían a prueba al estómago más fuerte, por fortuna no hubo ningún problema con ninguno de nuestros acompañantes del tour.

Arriving at the beach:

I didn't know where I was going, because I had really only seen pictures of the beach that were shared by, but since I was going on behalf of a travel agency, I didn't worry too much about looking in detail at the map or previous pictures. I tell you that it was magnificent, because when we were already approaching our destination we took a specific turn that showed me an image that almost took my breath away. I did not expect the landscape to be so beautiful and I was very excited. Before reaching the beach area I was surrounded by a lagoon that gave me all the signs that this piece of lagoon full of flamingos (which are now Jau's family, ask him why), has to be a spectacle full of birds of all kinds at sunrise.

Llegando a la playa:

No sabía a donde iba, porque de verdad únicamente había visto fotos de la playa que compartían por, pero como iba de manos de una agencia de viajes, no me preocupé mucho de mirar en detalle el mapa o fotos previas. Les digo que fue magnífico, porque cuando ya nos estábamos acercando a nuestro destino dimos una vuelta en específico que me mostró una imagen que casi me quita el aliento. No me esperaba que el paisaje fuera tan bella y me emocioné muchísimo. Antes de llegar a la zona de la playa estaba rodeada por una laguna que me dio todas las señales de que ese pedazo de laguna llena de unos flamencos (que ahora son familia de Jau, pregúntenle por qué), tiene que ser un espectáculo lleno de aves de todo tipo al amanecer.

Patanemo Bay / Bahía de Patanemo

That's how we arrived at this beach, which surprised me a lot. Let me tell you: Patanemo Bay is a beach in the state of Carabobo in Venezuela. It is located in the municipality of Puerto Cabello, within the San Esteban National Park, very close to Borburata. It owes its name to the place where it is located, the town of Patanemo.

Así llegamos a esta Playa, a mí me sorprendió muchísimo. Les cuento: La Bahía de Patanemo es una playa del Estado Carabobo en Venezuela. Se encuentra ubicada en el Municipio Puerto Cabello, dentro del Parque nacional San Esteban, muy cerca de Borburata. Esta debe su nombre al lugar donde se encuentra ubicada, el Pueblo de Patanemo.

It is a fairly large beach, and at the time we arrived there were no people there yet. The first thing I did was to take the respective photos before the expected crowd arrived.

Es una playa bastante grande, y a la hora que llegamos no había gente aún. Lo primero que hice fue tomar las fotos respectivas antes de que se llegara el gentío esperado.

The water was a bit cold for my taste, but nothing I couldn't handle, what I couldn't stand were the rolling waves. Poor Alejandro swallowed salt water until he couldn't take it anymore.

El agua estaba un poco fría para mi gusto, pero nada que no pudiera soportar, lo que en sí no soporté mucho fueron las olas revolcadoras. El pobre Alejandro tragó agua salada hasta que no pudo más.

There were several options to accommodate us on the beach, and we opted for an option under the palm trees with 4 chairs and a small table, enough for what we needed. We filled Alejandro with sunscreen and he jumped into the water, he couldn't resist the urge to swim.

Había varias opciones para acomodarnos en la playa, y nosotros optamos por una opción bajo las palmeras con 4 sillas y una pequeña mesa, suficiente para lo que necesitabamos. Llenamos a Alejandro de protector solar y se lanzó al agua, no aguantaba las ganas de bañarse.

The beach was cloudy, but there was no sign of rain, I honestly liked it a lot because it was quite nice. As the hours passed, many more people were approaching, and by noon it was almost all busy.

La playa estaba nublada, pero no había señales de lluvia, sinceramente me gustó mucho porque estaba bastante agradable. A medida que pasaban las horas, muchas más personas se iban acercando, ya a mediodía estaba casi todo ocupado.

Let's eat! / ¡A comer!

If I don't talk about the food on a trip to the beach I might as well not have gone, so I have to torture them. Noon came and we started to get hungry, so we went to order our fish, my sister and Jau ordered snapper and I decided on a cojinua with tostones and salad, it was delicious. Nothing like fried fish on the beach.

Si no hablo de la comida en una ida a la playa es como que no hubiera ido, as[i que tengo que torturarlos. Llegó mediodía y empezó a pegar el hambre, así que nos dirigimos a pedir nuestros pescados, mi hermana y Jau pidieron pargo y yo me decidí por una cojinua con tostones y ensalada, estaba deliciooooso. Nada como el pescado frito a la orilla de la playa.

The rest of the day went great, there was no data signal on the beach, but there were options to pay for wifi, but I found out at the last minute. However, I didn't see the need to rent anything if the idea of the beach is to take advantage of the disconnection from everything. At one point I went with Alejandro to walk the entire beach to take advantage of deciding some things that had me thinking. I did not take my cell phone with me on this walk, and thank goodness, because we reached the end of the beach and the people in that area did not inspire any confidence in me.

When I returned from the walk, I was sitting for a while and one of the many vendors who passed by our site arrived, but this one in particular called my attention every time he passed by, the jewelry he sold was beautiful, totally different from what I had seen before, the guy very kindly gave me one of his pieces, Jau bought him two. I came out of this little trip refreshed and renewed.

El resto del día transcurrió genial, no había señal de datos en la playa, pero había opciones para pagar un wifi, pero me enteré a última hora. Sin embargo, no vi la necesidad de alquilar nada si la idea de la playa es aprovechar la desconexión de todo. En un momento me fui con Alejandro a recorrer toda la playa para aprovechar de decidir algunas cosas que me tenían pensativa. No me llevé el celular a este paseo, y menos mal, porque llegamos al final de la playa y las personas que estaban en esa zona no me inspiraron nada de confianza.

Cuando volví del paseo, estuve un rato sentada y se llegó uno de los tantos vendedores que pasaron por nuestro sitio, pero este en particular llamaba mi atencuón cada vez que pasaba la bisutería que vendía eran preciosas, totalmente diferentes a lo que había visto antes, el chicho muy amablemente me regaló una de sus piezas, Jau le compró dos. Yo salí regalada y renovada de este viajecito.

Time to go / Time to go

It was time to return, we took our belongings and moved to the bus and took the opportunity to take some pictures without anyone on board. The return trip for me was divided in two parts, I didn't want to miss the beautiful landscapes, so I slept until we arrived to Puerto cabello where I fell asleep until we arrived to Naguanagua again.

Llegó la hora de regresar, tomamos nuestras pertenencias y nos movimos al bus y aprovechamos de hacernos unas fotos sin nadie a bordo. El viaje de regreso para mi estuvo dividido en dos partes, no quería perderme los hermosos paisajes, así que aguante el sueño hasta que llegamos a Puerto cabello en donde me quedé dormida hasta que llegamos a Naguanagua nuevamente.

Since I had hardly slept the night before and woke up very early, as soon as I got home I laid down for a while until I fell asleep. I loved that I didn't get too much of a tan, so there was no skin discomfort at all.

Como casi no había dormido la noche anterior y me desperté muy temprano, en cuanto llegué a mi casa me acosté un rato hasta quedarme dormida. Me encantó que no me bronceé mucho, por lo que no hubo ningún tipo de molestias en la piel.

I love going to the beach and this trip without planning much in advance was perfect. One of my plans is to go at least once a month to the beach or to some tourist destination. The month is not over yet and I sincerely hope to be able to go to the beach, although I don't think so because my birthday is coming and I don't know if I will have time, but for sure I will do something wonderful and that will fill me with emotion.

I hope you have enjoyed this trip to a beach with me, I am already anxious to know some other new beach in this area of the country. Some of the beaches I want to visit are some of the keys of the Morrocoy National Park, and the beaches of Aragua, all of them are on my bucket list. See you soon in a new publication.

Adoro ir a la playa y este viaje sin planificar mucho previamente fue perfecto. Dentro de mis planes está ir al menos una vez al mes a la playa o a algún destino turístico. Aún no ha terminado el mes y sinceramente espero poder ir a la playa, aunque no lo creo porque se acerca mi cumpleaños y no sé si me dé tiempo, pero de seguro haré algo maravilloso y que me llenará de emoción.

Espero que hayan disfrutado de este viaje a una playa junto a mí, ya estoy ansiosa de conocer alguna otra nueva playa de esta zona del país. Dentro de algunas que quiero conocer son algunos cayos del parque Nacional Morrocoy, y las playas de Aragua, todas estas están en mi lista de cosas por hacer.
