If I had to say which province I visited the most places, I would definitely say Cordoba. This province is always a good option to visit because it is "close" to the city of Buenos Aires (700 km depending on where you go). Cordoba has a lot of beautiful places to see: you have hills, mountains, valleys, rivers, streams, dams, waterfalls and many urban centres to spend a good stay. I could mention many places I visited in this province, but one place we never stopped in is the capital city of Cordoba, so this last time I wanted to take a day to get to know its surroundings 😃.
You could say that we who live in the city of Buenos Aires are not so interested in seeing other big cities, so every time we went to Cordoba we always went somewhere mountainous or where we could have contact with nature. Even going by plane or bus, we only use Cordoba city station to go to another place in the interior. But on my last trip I passed through the city, and instead of rushing off to my next destination, I timed my trip to arrive a day earlier than expected and have time to wander around a bit more 😃.
During my stay exchanging work for accommodation in the south of Argentina I met a lot of people, and one of those people became my friend over time. After we each went our separate ways, this time we met again in Cordoba where he is still working in a hostel and I went to visit him as a guest. I had arrived very early in the morning, so after having breakfast together, we went out for a walk, taking advantage of the fact that the morning was quite pleasant 😃.
Strange monument to the... weed cigarette?
Extraño monumento al... ¿cigarrillo de marihuana?
Luckily, the hostel was right in the centre of the city, so we were able to get around a lot of places on foot in just a couple of hours. We visited the Sarmiento Park, the Plaza Bicentenerio, the Rosedal (although from the outside because it was not possible to enter) and our longest stop was inside the former zoo of the city. This place was very similar to the Ecoparque of Buenos Aires, which also functioned as a zoo in the last century 😃.
This place called Parque de la Biodiversidad still retains much of the façade of what used to be the original zoo. There are also the odd exotic animal hanging around, such as flamingos and peacocks. Touring inside can take an hour or a little less, and I found it a nice place to spend some time with the family. I had never heard about this place before, so I liked it. Admission is free and you can join guided tours for free if you wish 😃.
Leaving the park, we went to a small elevated square from where we had a good view of the city, as well as a technical stop for some mates. From there we could see part of the big city of Cordoba, as well as what used to be an old Ferris wheel, and once again that strange monument resembling a weed cigarette that caused me so much amusement. According to the internet, this construction is a lighthouse built to celebrate the Bicentenary of our country Argentina ❣️.
This tour of the city of Cordoba was quite interesting, and I was glad that my tour guide was my friend who has been living there for about two months now. To the long list of places I know in this province I have added Cordoba, the capital, which was always left aside. Sometimes the cities also have interesting things to see and enjoy a bit, despite the large number of people who pass through them. Going one day before starting the big trip was a great decision, because now I know another little corner of my country ❤️.

It is very logical that you have never visited the city of Cordoba before, as you say, those of us who live in cities have the desire to know something different from the environment in which we live.
It's great that you finally decided to visit the city of Cordoba, I knew it was pretty, but I didn't imagine it would be so beautiful. Great that you could meet up with your friend and visit beautiful places in the city.
Thank you very much dear friend @lauramica for sharing this experience of visiting Cordoba Capital

Thank you very much Luis, I hope you have a nice day too. I liked the city, it was good. But I think it was good for one day 😅.
The pictures you shared are really amazing, but what really caught my attention was when you shared some pictures of flamingos at the Parque de la Biodiversidad zoo. I have never seen the bird in person but I am very interested in it.
