The beauty of Memmingen - a town in the heart of Europe

A few months ago I traveled to Germany. We landed at Memmingen airport and had a few hours of free time before continuing to our final destination, which I will tell you about in a separate post.
Memmingen, a small town unknown to most people, turned out to be a hidden gem. It is located in Bavaria, very close to one of the largest cities in Europe, Munich. It is also very close to the Swiss and Austrian borders and also to the Alps and Lake Constance. That is exactly why I defined it as a discovery in the heart of Europe. The time was not enough to go around everything, but we managed to walk around the center and have a coffee in one of the neat little cafes. Now let me show you some of what we saw.

It was interesting to learn that every year there is a traditional hand trout fishing competition, in which only men who have lived in the town for several years can participate. It is a symbol of the city. The town is very beautiful and neat. The small picturesque streets create a sense of coziness, not so typical of Germany. The food in the small local restaurants is extremely tasty, and enjoying a good coffee, you can forget about all your problems.

Although we only had a few hours at our disposal, we were able to feel the spirit of the city. However, the feeling it left me definitely makes me want to come back one day and get to know it more. And also to explore more of its sights. Its proximity to so many other great cities and locations makes it perfect for combining into one trip. And if you're traveling by plane, cheap plane tickets are also a huge plus.
