Adventure Awaits: My Mountain Expedition in Cebu with Friends

Cebu also boasts of some of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Philippines and possesses a rich culture with beautiful beaches. I was recently offered a chance to have the experience of a lifetime with my friends to get a glimpse of the large mountains and valleys of Cebu. Our enjoyable adventure trip that was covered by this blog did not lack in laughers, struggle and other memories that left us awe stricken. One day we had to go on a journey in the early morning of a Saturday morning. We were just sitting in one of the cafes in the Cebu City and the atmosphere was so thrilling with us taking our coffee, discussing our day plans. We went to the Osmena Peak, one of the highest points in the Cebu and a scenic view with precipitous hills. Then we broke a good breakfast and packed the bags into a van and started on the windy journey to the mountains.

The urban sprawl as well as the landscape changed to green plants. The mountains were distant and the peaks covered with mists. The expectation of what we had expected to see on our destination and I could not help but feel that I was somehow a bit full of adventure running through my body. We were very warmly welcomed by the people on the foot of Osmena Peak and were provided with some guides that could lead us through the hike. We were soon briefed about the trail, safety brief and then started the journey. The road was tarmac straight and tough, and there was a sharp down navigation and a rocky pathway between which one must pass with a clear and very forceful will.

The landscape was growing more and more beautiful with every step that we made. Green leaves were quite bright, and blue sky was in contrast with the greens and the air was cool and refreshing. We had some breaks so that we could have some rest and capture photos of the nature of our adventure. When we made a step after a step, we were closer to the peak, and the friendship of my friends allowed enjoying the experience even more. An hour later we were on the summit of the Osmena Peak. The view was picturesque which we were invited to as soon as we entered; it was inconceivable to the sight. we had the waving hills and jagged mountains ahead of us and it was a good picture that would have been good in a post card. The beauty of the landscape and the achievement that was felt on its arrival at the top made us marvel.

Such elevation of feelings and so greatness of nature could not have been described in words. We then made time to view it and took photographs of it and laughed and joked. It was an ideal friend-ship and adventure time, there, that teaches us that we should not forget to go out and adventure the world with a friend. We planned to have a picnic on the top so as to offer our success. Our bags were unzipped, and the fruits and snacks we had packed earlier on were put out. We sat in the grass, and took our lunch in the midst of the wonderful scenery. This was also helped by the fact that it was a cool wind and the fact that we could hear the nature around us and this is what further contributed to the magic.

During the eating we were discussing our dreams and aspirations and about future adventures that we would like to have together. It was a gorgeous memory of the relations, which we had established through the years, and how relations of the kind are fixed. We were all there in the exquisite beauty of the mountains in Cebu laughing and remembering our previous trips and making other plans. and now picnicking was over, and we must go down. The up was no better than down with its relative afflictions. We were walking along some craggy formations and our course was stiff and we did not want to drop. Wherever we turned there were a few out of the way places, by the road, of wild flowers and strange formations in the rocks, and each of these presented its own interest.

We overtook other hikers who were on their way down as they were only beginning to climb. We smiled at each other and supported each other and this made us believe that we were among the fellow adventurers. It is the experience that was the best one of having such a group of people who enjoyed their time looking at the natural beauty and the spirit of adventure. As we got to the bottom we were exhausted and intoxicated. The trip to Osmena Peak did not only give us a breath-taking scenery, but also made us close as friends and gave us some memories that we can never forget. We also stopped to share stories on what we had done in the day, what was the best and what we learned.

The trip had taught us the lesson of patience, cooperation and the beauty of nature. It has taught us that we have to leave the comfort zone in order to acquire something new. It was somehow pleasant to us that we were in a kind of celebration on our way back to Cebu City.
