Although I live in a small city, I can say that I live in the city that has the largest Bolivar Square in Latin America, and well, that is an interesting matter considering that Simon Bolivar is the most important hero in the history of Venezuela and some other South American countries. Bolivar is mostly known as “The Liberator” since he actively participated in the liberation of at least 5 countries, a feat that remained for history due to its great transcendence.
So, as you now understand, in Venezuela there are Bolivar squares in every town and city, each one obviously with its own dimension and specific characteristics. Next, you will get to know the one in the capital of the state of Aragua, Maracay.
Statue of Simón Bolívar
In accordance with the above mentioned, we have the great statue of Simon Bolivar, this is located in one of the central wings of the square, we can see that it is on a magnificent marble base which gives it majesty. This is undoubtedly one of the great attractions of the square. Bolivar is looking to his right with his hat in his hand while the horse stands on two legs.
Ancient government of the state of Aragua
Towards one side of the square, we have the old government palace of the Aragua state. You can appreciate the colonial style with which it was built and which is in perfect state of maintenance. It is painted white and yellow, but what stands out most at night are the different colored lights. You can also appreciate that the main entrance is being improved as far as lights are concerned.
Water fountains
There are different water fountains distributed throughout the square, these provide freshness to its surroundings and are adorned with lights that give it a very nice look. Perhaps they are not the most striking fountains of all, but from my point of view they fulfill their function perfectly.
In the following photos you can see how wide is this square which has ceramic tiles all over its surface except for the green areas. There are buildings with colonial architecture in the surroundings which complement in a great way the beautiful view. There are also many trees and vegetation, but unfortunately it cannot be appreciated properly at night.
Maracay Opera Theater and Sindoni Tower
There are two very particular buildings that undoubtedly attract the attention of those who visit the Bolivar Square. One of them is the Maracay Opera Theater, its particular construction looks great with yellow, blue and red lights. On the other hand, it is impossible for the Sindoni tower to go unnoticed with its great size and majesty.
So you were able to observe the most important spaces of the largest Bolivar Square in Latin America, this is easy to say, but I must clarify that there are many scattered throughout the major cities of America, and well, there is no doubt that at night this square dresses up with beautiful colors and shades for our view. It was a pleasure to share, see you soon.

Wow, how beautiful it looks, in fact, everything looks more beautiful at night, I do not know why haha I have not had the privilege of visiting a square at night, but there is a different aura, I loved the lighting, yes, that square is huge 😲
It is definitely another place during the night, although it is also beautiful during the day. And yes, walking around this square can be tiring because of its sheer size, but it's great. greetings!
