That's what I meant about going to the west side of Cornwall instead of where we were. You could do two weeks and do the whole od Devon and Cornwall. The kids would love Newquay and beaches around there at Crantock.
France would probably be closer for you! What makes the country roads even worse than the Scottish one is that they're all lined with 12 foot high hedges, it's like driving in a tunnel!
