This was our first experience of skiing in Japan and it was every bit as good as I had heard.
The Rusutu Resort has 3 distinct areas. West Mountain is just out side the resorts back door. It is a bit smaller and not as high as the other 2 areas but still has some good runs and gets a lot of snow.
The Resort it's self is pretty expensive at $1000 dollars aud per night for a small hotel style room but it is very convenient with the chair lifts only hundreds of metres away.
West Mountain is mostly the beginners area and is only 715m above sea level. There are 3 chair lifts, one magic carpet and a gondola that has not been opened since covid. The gondola is probably just not needed as the lift lines queues were not very long when we were there.
Even though it's the beginners area there is still some black Diamond hard runs.
Thanks for visiting Rusutsu Resort West Mountain!
