Roadtrip to Lama mocogno. First stop in Riolunato, a delightful town.

Good morning Hivers, today I'm not well at all, yesterday I was in the emergency room and they diagnosed me with a serious kidney infection and for anyone who has ever suffered from kidney pain you know how painful it is. So I decided to continue telling about my little anniversary trip to the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, you will find the first part here:

At least I comfort myself with sweet memories of pleasant days. During our trip we visited various places and villages, one of those that I liked most for its layout and tranquility is Riolunato. We decided to stop here simply out of curiosity about the name of the town, we had decided to make this trip in peace without giving ourselves any pre-established stops except for the one to sleep. Let's now talk about Riolunato, it is part of the region neighboring ours and is in the Modena area, it is a hilly town located on the Scoltenna river, a stream that winds almost all the way to Tuscany, many houses are located near an artificial lake with a hydroelectric power plant. Riolunato is on the slopes of Mount Cimone, it is a small and simple place with few recreational activities, but it is a truly quiet and lovely place. Riolunato is famous for being the seat of an important association that dealt with Esperanto, a new language invented at the end of the nineteenth century.

As soon as we arrived we realized that it is a really small village, so much so that we were afraid of getting stuck with the car. The village is small and quiet but very welcoming and flowery, there are flowers in many corners and windows, the village is almost entirely made of stone, it has a small square where we found a tavern which however was closed and we discovered it only opens on weekends , we then continued towards the central part of the town where we found another delightful square with steps that led to the main church, the church of Giacomo Maggiore and we discovered that in this town they make a rosary along the streets and paths during some periods of the ' year. I really liked the square with the staircase, we stopped there to calmly observe the fountains and the view of the hills and mountains. We spent about an hour there and then continued our journey, but Riolunato remained in my heart.
