Good morning Hivers, today I'm taking you to a castle that I visited and which impressed me a lot in the city of Gradara, it was built on a hill near the old walled village in the Marche hills, known for the Dante's canto dedicated to Paolo and Francesca. But let's go back to the castle, beautiful, imposing and absolutely worth visiting both externally and internally! Gradara was the scene of clashes and battles between the papacy, the Marches and the adjacent regions. It was the property of the Malatesta family for a long time but was desired by various nobles precisely because of its strategic position and the strength of its walls, in fact it was owned by many families such as the Sforza, the Borgia and the Della Rovere. The castle can be visited almost every day for the modest price of eight euros. As soon as we arrived we were immediately struck by the grandeur of the castle and we decided to visit the inside too!

I'll show you some of the things that struck me most about the fourteen rooms that are inside this castle, the terracotta that you see in the first set of photos is by Andrea della Robbia and was in the chapel, it struck me because della Robbia is very also famous in my city of Pistoia while the second terracotta which has an almost oriental appearance is in the hall of justice, then obviously to stay on topic I saw some beautiful armor that seems to have come out of a film about knights.

In the second tranche of photos however there is Francesca's room, a tiredness inspired precisely by Paolo and Francesca, dress and furnishings are all inspired by Dante and Boccaccio and what they told of this story. The other poorer bed however is from the cardinal's room, a room to accommodate ecclesiastics.

In the third tranche of photos instead we find Lucrezia Borgia's dressing table located in the shell-shaped room of the same name and the photos I took of the finely decorated walls of the Sforzesco lion room, it is difficult to see but on the walls there is a coat of arms drawn with the lion, the painting is instead a tribute to the Madonna of Mercy.

Les mostraré algunas de las cosas que más me llamaron la atención de las catorce habitaciones que hay dentro de este castillo, la terracota que ven en el primer conjunto de fotos es de Andrea della Robbia y estaba en la capilla, me llamó la atención porque della Robbia también es muy famosa en mi ciudad de Pistoia mientras que la segunda terracota que tiene un aspecto casi oriental está en el salón de justicia, entonces obviamente para seguir con el tema vi unas hermosas armaduras que parecen sacadas de una película sobre caballeros.
