Papuk Nature Park is secluded gem and also the first Geo Park in eastern Croatia.
It is a place of unspoiled nature, the largest and known as the most beautiful mountain of Slavonia region.
I had the honor to visit this stunning mountain the last weekend, with my family. Let me share with you a few photographs, and maybe inspire you to visit this beauty when given a chance.
Just approaching this stunning mountain leaves you speechless. Constantly surrounded by picturesque views of pure and intact nature, decorated with wonderful songs of thousands of birds living in these fields and forests makes you fall silent.
Papuk is adored by hikers, the mountain is also know for more than 100km of marked bike trails.
We reached the most popular starting point, the mountain lodge named Jankovac.
The most adored waterfall of the mountain is the Jankovac waterfall, our first stop.
Trail "Grofova staza", which in translation means "Lords pathway", is the most famous trail of this area- It carries this name for a reason.
Passing near wonderful pristine lake, walking over wooden bridges, through the forest, to end up right on the beginning.
Having a couple of hours to sunset, we couldn't resist but take a little detour through Papuk's endless forest.
