Julley Everyone,
Another beautiful day out here in the Himalayas. As today, I decided to do something different rather than climbing the mountains or hiking. The trails are exploring the places unknown, but today I want you guys to take you along with me to the journey where I visited the ancient that through many many years as a culture takes place here in this place in the Himalayas, the ancient fair called Pipal Mela.
Though which changes in the technology and advancements in the life, but this place of Himalayas, it still maintains its culture where there are the shops in the fair and the people from all across the mountains and different port used to come to this fair and it is just going from years and years long, and still, there is the full vibe of the previous time that I felt like when I was at this place.
So in order to reach this place, it was in Dhalpur Kullu a city of Himachal Pradesh in the Himalayas India, where I reached this place and I got to know that there was this festival or Mela going on Mela is the local Pahari language of meaning fair.
The moment that I stepped into the road there were these different types of shops all around. It was around 3 PM in the afternoon when I reached this place and wherever I could see from far and far away, there were the shops that were a part of fair, The Local fair different types of shops. Different types of varieties of articles were all around and they were constructed by the local artists, and there were even many different types of toy shops. Different food stalls, all in all there was different level of vibe in the place.
Where ever I could see, there were these different types of shops as this shop containing the local handcrafted, handmade artefacts, and articles that were called as Tokri that is used from the many many ancient old years and older days. Still, they are practising and making these different types of boxes from the wooden structures as it looked something just like this.
Then followed by the shop was another shop that had these iron tools that were used in the ancient times, but still are in use here in the Himalayan region and the artists who created them. Even they were fully skilled as whatever they created would last for about decades and decades, and even more than 50-100 years also because the construction of the articles of the things that they create it was next level.
The ancient backpacks.
There even were these bagpacks which was called Kilta. In which the people or the farmers, even from the ancient time till date used to chop the grass or any other things such as fruits used to carry behind their back as a backpack. It was constructed with the wood, and these different artistic style was something that created it to last years and years.
This particular shop. It looks something very interesting to me as there were different types of boxes different types of articles that this artist. The Local person has created and I tried capturing as many photographs as I could of the things that very few people create and our heritage, and it looked something just like this
Guys, there were these countless number of items here in this particular stall. There were different types of things that even I was not sure about what it was what was the use of it and even the person who created it was himself selling and he was really very humble person.
The Tibatan Kinauri Stall
While I was just wondering why I came across this place, it was the Tibetan stall where there were these different types of the items which were built by the people and they looked something just like this. They were few pieces of jewellers, few instruments in order to heal and meditate, as it was something that even I saw very rarely all the things at once with my eyes and guys, I want you to share it with you guys, as it is really very rare to see all of the artistic work all at once, and it was just a shop in the local fair, which was taken place, years and years before at this place called Pipal Mela in Kullu.
The Handcrafted Dreamcatchers.
Then were these different type of toy shops which were not even shops, but just a piece of steak where there were toys hanged all around as it was a movable shop that this person or a person who was carrying it used to carry from one place to another.
The traditional Ladakhi Carpet Market (Galiche) - Local Language.
Then it came the portion that I reached when I was just wondering by at this Carpet Market where ever I could see at this place, countless number of carpets, different structures, different styles as you can see in these photographs, all of them, they were from the house of Ladakh. The People Ladakhi from the northern portion of India, where the climatic conditions are very harsh and it is called Himalayan Cold desert, where these artists, the local people they make these carpets and they are really very professional in the carpet making as the carpet they also look really very amazing.
Few of the carpets, they were even bigger than the size of the rooms and the size of the walls as it is the true artistic work that the people showed over here in the ancient fair, where the sellers which were now and at that time when their grandparents used to be at the same place in the ancient times, and it was the Heritage, the traditional fair that used to take place at this Himalayan Portion of Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh.
Though it was a big fair as per the locals, but there were very few people over here because this whole portion is not as much crowded as the other as the population at this place is a bit low and the people they live peacefully over here and maintain the culture and heritage of this place as the scenes looked something just like this when I was just wondering by the place, it never felt that there was any sort of chaos or commotion even While being at the busiest place of the whole area where this fair was taking place.
I tried capturing as many photographs as I could so that I could share it with you guys through this post, and even you guys could also experience such moments from the Himalayas.
Another thing that I noticed when I was at this place was that there were these different types of toys and these toys. Even they were manufactured by the local people as director was truly identical to that of a real one, and it was heavily built and it was really very strong as the children over here in the mountains would play in mud and that’s something that would make them hard And strong. So with these study, heavy build toys was something which was here all around. It was really very peaceful moment guys I spend over here and I really enjoyed the whole evening and throughout my journey throughout my adventure, I was always thinking that I could share and this adventure with you guys, and finally, this was the opportunity that I got, and I am truly very grateful for this adventure that I got to explore these beautiful moments.
Do let me know guys that what are the particular portions of my adventure of for the post that you liked the most in the comment section, and I would love to hear it from you as it would inspire me to explore these places and continue writing so that even you could also see the hidden beauty of the Himalayas and the hidden ancient culture, which is still ongoing till date.
So that’s all for today guys and finally, I am sharing the photograph of the balloon man that was carrying the balloon bigger than his own size. It was just really very amazing to see happiness all around spreading joy and all of the children kids all around were just happy, enjoying each and every single person, he was happy over here, and that was something that truly felt that it was the Himalayas.
There even were the shops of the traditional dresses. The shawls which were woolen, and it was really very amazing moment that I had spent over here all in all in itself, it was just a perfect blend of history, culture, and art…
Love from the Himalayas. ❤️
