Cliche as it may seem, but yeah, nothing beats good food.
This place is a hidden sanctuary about 10 minutes away from the town proper of Burauen, Leyte. It was around 5 in the afternoon, when my cousin messaged me that they will be going out with the kids to celebrate Valentine's Day.
I don't have so much details about the back story of the farm, all I know is the place became known here in our locality around 3-4 years ago. This is one of the farms being promoted for farm tourism, if I'm not mistaken.
Sorry, I might share wrong information here, please bear with me. LOL. This is just based on my personal knowledge since there are still no available data about the farm on the internet.
I loved how they decorated the place. Its sort of combination of farm vibe and class, a place where you can be one with nature, while you satisfy yourself with delicious food and warm ambiance.
The place is surrounded with these lovely plants. My brother told me, that some of them are expensive, the prices may even reach up to 5 digits. I can't tell whether he is telling the truth or just making fun of my ignorance. I'm completely clueless when it comes to the value of plants. Haha. While we were waiting for our food, I took some photos around and these are the eye-catchers.
Mr. Doy's is open every Thursday to Sunday, 2:00PM to 8:00PM. They are located at Brgy. Buri, about 10 minutes away from the town proper of Burauen. If you are travelling from Tacloban, travel time is approximately an hour. You may contact them for deliveries or reservation through this number 09617607078.
If you are commuting, the van fare is about ₱50 ($1) before pandemic but now I think its at ₱100 ($2). There are also ordinary buses that travels to Burauen located at the New Bus Terminal of Tacloban.
We only waited for about 20 minutes, and yummy pizzas were served fresh from their kitchen. We ordered their Hawaiian Pizza Supreme and I think, the other one is Pizza Garden Special, each cost ₱200 ($4).
The crust is thin and soft, but the edges are somewhat crunchy, just how I like it! I swear, this is one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted here in our province. This is really a must try!
We paired their delicious pizza with these refreshing drinks, which is really good.
Their Pasta Carbonara is something to die for. I am even salivating as I am writing this post and seeing those photos I took. I remember how I devoured it few minutes after it went out of their kitchen. It was still hot and damn soooo good.
The kids had Chicken and Waffles. It was so photogenic, and delicious as well.
I really enjoyed their food. I can't tell which one was my favorite because everything that we ordered was really good. Even their drinks are extra special. Can't wait to visit the place again.
