The acoustic shell is one of the most interesting spots in Guaiquerí Park. It is shaped like an amphitheater and was built for rehearsals and performances by youth symphony orchestras and various local folk groups. Its curved arch projects sound toward the audience without the need for amplification systems.
I have visited this place on several occasions and often find young people rehearsing with their instruments. On rare occasions, I have stayed to watch these rehearsals, but the sun often makes it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. It can be said that this area of the park was chosen as the ideal location for artistic events because the sound projection through the acoustic shell allows the music to be heard from a considerable distance.
In addition to cultural events, dance therapy sessions have been held here, which are inspiring for the audience. This venue has been restored several times and is currently in excellent condition; the bleachers are painted white and yellow.
There is also a small garden separating the acoustic shell from the bleachers, which is home to beautiful flowers; there, you can also see various butterflies fluttering about, which helps accentuate the natural atmosphere surrounding this stage.
Personally, every time I have the chance to pass by here, I reflect on the artist’s perspective and the display of their talent before the audience. While the performance of an orchestra or band depends on several members—and therefore the individual takes a back seat—I admit that I prefer to be on the audience side and be among those who offer the applause.

La concha acústica es uno de los lugares más interesantes ubicados en el parque Guaiquerí. Tiene forma de anfiteatro y fue construido para ensayos y presentaciones de las orquestas sinfónicas juveniles y diversos grupos folclóricos locales. Ese arco curvo proyecta el sonido hacia el público sin necesidad de sistemas de amplificación.
En varias ocasiones he visitado este lugar y suelo encontrar jóvenes ensayando con sus instrumentos. En contadas ocasiones he permanecido presenciando tales prácticas porque el sol no permite disfrutar a plenitud. Se puede decir que en este sector del parque fue seleccionado como la ubicación ideal para eventos artísticos puesto que la proyección sonora, a través de la concha acústica, permite que se escuche a una distancia considerable.
Además de eventos culturales, en este lugar se han realizado sesiones de bailorerapia, lo que resulta motivador para el público. Este recinto ha sido restaurado en varias ocasiones, actualmente luce en óptimo estado, las gradas están pintadas de blanco y amarillo.
Además existe un pequeño jardín que separa la concha acústica de las gradas, el cual alberga flores muy hermosas, allí también se pueden observar diferentes mariposas sobrevolando, lo que contribuye a acentuar el ambiente natural alrededor de este escenario.
En lo personal, cada vez que tengo la ocasión de pasar por acá reflexiono sobre la perspectiva del artista y la exposición de su talento ante el público. Si bien la ejecución de una orquesta o banda musical depende de varios integrantes, y por lo tanto lo individual pasa a segundo plano, admito que prefiero estar del lado de la tribuna y ser de los que conceden los aplausos.
