DAY ONE IN GORENJSKA

in Worldmappin12 days ago

Hello my friends!👊🏻
It’s been a while since we last talked, and I’m happy to share that I’ve finally finished school – yay!😍
But never mind about school, because now I’m finally relaxed and free of obligations.😅

Today, my partner, our dog Ruby, and his cousin went on a two-day trip to the Gorenjska region.
We set off early in the morning since we had quite a drive ahead of us and wanted to make the most of the day. Ruby was super excited, as she loves car rides and discovering new places where she can explore, run around, and swim.🤭

FIRST DAY

  • LAKE JASNA
Our first destination was Lake Jasna, located near Kranjska Gora. The lake is incredibly picturesque, surrounded by majestic mountains. The water is quite cold, but incredibly refreshing – just what you need on a hot summer day. Some brave souls went for a swim, while we just took off our shoes and dipped our feet in the lake, and Ruby happily splashed around nearby. The surroundings are beautifully maintained, with wooden walkways, benches, and viewpoints that offer stunning views of the Julian Alps. The lake also features a bronze statue of an ibex, where nearly every visitor stops to take a photo.

•Happy me.😇

“Photos? Not for Ruby – she had better things to do!”

•Love love love.🩷 There was a lake here some years ago, but it’s no longer there. But it’s okey ,we like a view.🩷

•A little foot dip in crystal-clear waters.🦋💙

  • ZELENCI

After a short rest and a walk around the lake, we continued on to Zelenci, the source of the Sava Dolinka river. This is a truly magical place, captivating with its emerald-green water and peaceful silence, occasionally interrupted only by birdsong. The path to Zelenci is short and easy, suitable for all ages – and also perfect for pets. While Ruby explored the area, we admired the vivid colors of the spring. The water is crystal clear and gets its unique green hue from the minerals, which is where the name “Zelenci” (meaning “the green ones”) comes from. There is also a wooden viewing platform from which you can see the entire marshy area and the spring – it’s truly something special and instantly calming.

• Steps toward the green gem – Zelenci

•I had no words. I was in awe. The water was so pure, so calm – simply breathtaking.

•And of course, my boyfriend patiently took photos of me.😇

After that, we decided it was time to grab a bite to eat. We headed to a nearby restaurant and enjoyed a delicious lunch. The food was fresh, homemade, and very tasty. Ruby peacefully napped under the table – clearly, the day had been full of impressions for her too.🩷

After lunch, we slowly made our way back to Ljubljana. On the drive home, we shared our impressions of the day, listened to music, and already started thinking about where we could go tomorrow. All in all, it was a wonderful day, full of natural beauty, fresh air, laughter, and relaxation. Gorenjska didn’t disappoint – it reminded us once again how beautiful Slovenia is and how important it is to take some time to escape the everyday routine.🤭🥰

Sort:

Wow! Nature’s perfect masterpiece. The lake reflects the towering peaks, creating a wonderful scene that feels both powerful and serene at the same time.

Yes, it’s true — you can’t even imagine what nature can create. It was truly beautiful.🥹

Thanks for sharing this wonderful place!🤗
