Few days ago I went to AMRITSAR with my besties and i had lot of fun there. So today I am here with some new pictures and I am very sure that after watching these pictures you will die to come here.

Hi hivers

Namaste...

Hope you all are doing great. We all are having a stressful week so we decided to plan a trip. After discussing like for an hour we decided a place which is AMRITSAR. Amritsar is a city in the Indian state of Punjab which is 28 kilometres from the border with Pakistan.

Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh guru is credited with founding the holy city of Amritsar in the Sikh tradition. The Golden Temple is a gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. There is also a man-made pool on the site of the temple. In 1604, Guru Arjan placed a copy of the Adi Granth in Harmandir Sahib. The Golden Temple is spiritually the most significant shrine in Sikhism. The Golden Temple is an open house of worship for all people, from all walks of life and faiths. It has a square plan with four entrances, and a circumambulation path around the pool. One of these is Akal Takht, the chief centre of religious authority of Sikhism. In the gurudwara there is always langar – a free Sikh community–run kitchen that offers a vegetarian meal to all visitors without discrimination. Over 100,000 people visit the holy shrine daily for worship. And more than 10,000 people had langar there. The Gurdwara complex has been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Jallianwala Bagh massacre

I know that maximum of you is aware about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919.In Amritsar Punjab a large peaceful crowd had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh to protest against the arrest of pro-Indian independence leaders Dr. Saifuddin Kitchlew and Dr. Satya Pal. In response to the public gathering, the temporary Brigadier general R. E. H. Dyer surrounded the protesters with his Sikh, Gurkha, Baloch and Rajput from 2-9th Gurkhas, the 54th Sikhs and the 59th Sind Rifles of British Indian Army .The Jallianwala Bagh could only be exited on one side, as its other three sides were
enclosed by buildings. After blocking the exit with his troops, he ordered them to shoot at the crowd, continuing to fire even as the protestors tried to flee. The troops kept on firing until their ammunition was exhausted. Protesters ran here and there to save there lives. Some of them jumped into the deep well to save themselves but the troop did not stopped. Whenever you will visit to Amritsar you can witness all the things there there is a well in which they jumped. On the walls there are marks of gun shots .I can not even imagine these things. While watching all these things there I felt so proud to be an Indian and felt more respect for freedom fighters.
