I haven’t posted in this community for a while, and honestly, I feel like this year has flown by because so much has happened. Little by little, I’m trying to reorganize my life and rebuild the discipline to start posting again.
A few days ago, I discovered a beautiful place very close to my home, and I’d like to share a bit about it today.
I visited a neighborhood called Abadia, in the city of Louveira. It’s an old rural area that was once home to a significant concentration of Italian immigrants. There are even some plaques in the area commemorating their arrival in 1890.
The region is dotted with small rural properties focused on fruit farming, especially Niagara grapes, which are a local tradition.
I took a stroll along the municipal road that winds through these farms, soaking in the beauty and tranquility of the area while imagining what life must have been like for the immigrants who settled there.
I especially enjoyed walking through the vineyards and ending my tour at a charming cafe on one of the neighborhood’s main streets. The area also boasts some delightful Italian canteens and restaurants.
Since I love cycling, I’m already planning a return trip to explore the region on two wheels. The most intriguing part is that I ended up here while searching for a geocache using the geocaching app. Although the cache was badly damaged, the true treasure I discovered was this charming place so close to home.
