Hello dearest friends!
I’m very happy that yesterday I managed to write this post, which I’m sharing with you today.
I unfortunately realized that I hadn’t told you about a place I visited some time ago, and for which I still had some beautiful photos saved. But unfortunately, I always get a little lost, partly because of my work, and so I forgot to tell you about this place that I was lucky enough to visit and explore during my usual walk.
I’m talking about Bettolle, a hamlet of the municipality of Sinalunga in the province of Siena. So, we are in that most picturesque part of Tuscany, which some might even call the most beautiful. But as I’ve said before, the beauty of Tuscany is precisely that you only need to travel a few kilometers and the landscape changes completely.
As I was saying, Bettolle is located in a small hilly area in the heart of the Valdichiana. We are right near the A1 highway exit, and its origins, like those of many other Tuscan villages, date back to the Etruscan era. In fact, several archaeological finds have been discovered here, which, as you know, I absolutely love because I have always been passionate about archaeology.
As soon as I arrived, while exploring the streets of this small place, I came across a truly beautiful villa. I didn’t quite understand what it was, but in reality, many parts of this place caught my attention for the artistic touch they seemed to hide.
Continuing my walk, I noticed that every corner of this beautiful town was truly unique and very scenic. At times, it even felt like I was inside a movie or a time machine.
At a certain point, among the architectural structures, those artistic decorations disappeared, and the red bricks became the real protagonists—just as you can see in the photos I took. I have to say that this village, like many others I’ve visited, is very special with all these red bricks. But above all, I also found so many cats here! It’s almost as if they are the true guardians of this artistic place.
I always remember that this area of Tuscany is well known for the production of olive oil but also for its wine. So, these places are not only perfect for lovers of art and history but also for those who appreciate true Tuscan food and wine traditions—something truly important and worth preserving.
I hope the photos I’ve shared are interesting, and I hope that you too will be able to visit these places in the near future. See you in my next post!
