Tam Dao - The Land For Dreamers

2022 has come and I hope we are all safe and healthy. Have you had a trip in early 2022? This is my group's trip to Tam Dao, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Vietnam. Let's explore with me!!!

Tam Dao Mountain

Tam Dao is a famous tourist town and located on a mountain range 879 m above sea level in Vinh Phuc province - Vietnam. Tam Dao means three mountains next to each other including: Thien Thi (1,375m), Ban Thach (1,388m) and Phu Nghia (1,400m). The journey time between Hanoi city center and Tam Dao is around 1hour 10 minutes and covers a distance of around 60 km (40km far from Noi Bai international airport). If you want to go to Tam Dao, you can rent a limousine car for 130,000 VND (about 6 dollars).

Tam Dao has a European-style design because in the 19th century the French discovered this place and renovated them into a resort. The war took place and Tam Dao was severely damaged, until the 90s, the Vietnamese restored the unique character of Tam Dao. Tam Dao is described as the paradise of the North of Vietnam because it is cool and foggy all year round. Coming to Tam Dao in the winter like me, you can see the poetic scenery with the chilly air, bringing a romantic feeling. Tam Dao has a lot of beautiful sights that you can visit so it is a good place for couples, families or friends to be together. When you come here, you will feel the 4 typical seasons of Vietnam in a day: spring, summer, autumn and winter. In the morning when you wake up you will feel the spring breeze with the fragrance of flowers, in the noon there are warm rays of sunshine and this is the time to take the best photos, in the afternoon the sky is very blue and peaceful , the night comes cold weather makes you sleep well. Tam Dao is an eco-tourism area and also a spiritual tourist area, so you can come here for a week to explore all of them. Some nice places to go are: primeval forests, caves, streams, lakes, high mountains, Tam Dao national park, ghost forest, Dua pond, Rung Rinh Peak, Giai Oan stream, Truong Sinh Mountain, Bac waterfalls, National Mother Temple, monasteries and many other temples,..

One day and one night trip and the beauty of Tam Dao

After hard and tiring working days I thought that I needed to rest somewhere. So me and my group of friends chose tam Dao as the place to visit. Before moving to Tam Dao we had to check the result of covid - 19, luckily we were all fine and no one was infected. We are a group of 8 people and we went here in the evening, this is the homestay we chose.It's called "Kumochan" its large and cheap homestay. Only about 1,400,000 VND for 8 people. It was already a big room that could accommodate 12-15 adults. If you travel with your friends, the cost to travel is really cheap, we traveled and ate 1 day 1 night for about 1,000,000 VND (about 40 dollars). We brought food from home and had a barbecue together at this homestay.

I was feeling happy and joyful because of that, I wish I had more time to travel with my friends. We had a fun and wonderful night there then our group went to bed early to prepare well for the next day.

There is a motorbike rental service here, so we rented a few motorbikes to move around easily.

I guess all visitors to Tam Dao have visited the cafe restaurant "Quan Gio" - This is a cafe located at a height of 1000 m above sea level. From the restaurant, you can enjoy the majestic natural scenery of the land of Tam Dao, can see the beautiful panorama of Vinh Yen city, Hung Temple, Ba Vi mountain range. The menu of this restaurant has a variety of food and drinks, most of which are European because there are many foreign tourists here. There is a telescope here to help visitors enjoy the scenery, the surrounding scenery is as beautiful as the pictures, I felt relaxed and just wanted to sit longer.

This is Tam Dao stone church - this is the most outstanding architectural work of Tam Dao, it was built in the early 19th century. The architecture of the stone church is European in style and the climate here is cold, so I felt like I was lost in a certain European city.

This is another nice cafe called "Rock Cafe" located in the center of Tam Dao town.
