View from above of Tatvan, the charming town on the shores of Lake Van

If there is a sea or a lake somewhere, that settlement becomes more attractive in many aspects. Its preference is in the first place. Naturally, it turns into a place where opportunities and possibilities increase. People living by the sea are more civilized and fond of their freedom. Tatvan district is 15-20 km away from where I live and there are differences between the two settlements in many aspects. While people retreat to their homes as it gets dark where I live, there are crowds outside even late at night in Tatvan.

Bir yerde deniz, göl varsa o yerleşim yeri birçok açıdan daha cazip hale geliyor. Tercih edilirliği ilk sıralarda oluyor. Haliyle fırsatların , imkanların fazlalaştığıı yere dönüşüyor. Deniz kenarında yaşayan insanlar daha medeni, özgürlüklerine daha düşkün oluyor. Tatvan ilçesi yaşadığım yere 15-20 km mesafede ve iki yerleşim yeri arasında bir çok açıdan farklar var. Yaşadığım yerde hava karardığı gibi insanlar evlerine çekilirken Tatvan'da gece geç saatlerde bile dışarıda kalabalıklar oluyor.

While there is a lake on the north side of Tatvan, there is a forest area on the south side. During the winter months, the lake does not freeze because it is soda-salty. The lake has an increasing effect on air temperature. Even though the altitude is higher than where I live, it snows less. In the summer months, the forests in the south cause a cool weather. People who are tired of the heat can have pleasant moments in the forest area. If this is not enough, they can enter the lake and escape the effects of the temperatures.

Tatvan'ın kuzey tarafında göl yer alırken güney tarafında ormanlık bir alan mevcut. Kış aylarında göl sodalı, tuzlu olması nedeniyle donmuyor. Gölün hava sıcaklığını artırıcı etkisi var. Rakım yaşadığım yere göre fazla olmasına rağmen daha az kar yağıyor. Yaz aylarında da güneyde tarafındaki ormanlar serin bir havaya neden oluyor. Sıcaklardan bunalan kişiler ormanlık alanda keyifli anlar yaşayabilir. Bu yetmezse göle girip sıcaklıkların etkisinden kurtulabilirler.

Everywhere is visible clearly from here. Süphan Mountain, one of the highest mountains in Turkey, can also be seen from here. The mountain, whose summit is still covered with snow, is on the left. I don't know if the snow can last without melting, but in about three months, the new snow of the season will fall there.

Buradan her yer net şekilde gözüküyor. Türkiye'nin sayılı yüksek dağlarından biri olan Süphan Dağ'ı da buradan görünüyor. Zirvesi halen karlarla örtülü olan dağ sol tarafta yer alıyor. Karların erimeden dayanabilir mi bilmem ama yaklaşık üç sonra oraya sezonun yeni karları yağacak.

This area where I took the photos is the so-called radar area, where every part of Tatvan can be seen clearly. Where TV and radio receivers are placed. There is an altitude difference of approximately 200 meters from the city center.

Fotoğrafları çektiğim bu bölge, Tatvan'ın her yerinin net şekilde görüldüğü radar denilen bölge. TV ve radyo alıcılarının yerleştirildiği yer. Şehir merkezinden yaklaşık 200 metre bir rakım farkı vardır.

This place is a great viewing area. People mostly do not prefer this place. The fact that garbage is thrown on the ground, it is neglected, and the roads are bad do not make this place attractive to people. This place is mostly preferred by people who consume alcohol. People who consume alcohol often throw garbage on the ground.

Burası harika bir seyir alanı olma niteliği taşıyor. İnsanlar çoğunlukla burayı tercih etmiyor. Çöplerin yerlere atılması, bakımsız olması, yolların kötü olması insanlara burayı cazip kılmıyor. Burayı çoğunlukla alkol tüketen kişiler tercih ediyor. Alkol kullanan kişiler çoğunlukla çöpleri olduğu gibi yere atıyor.
