Hi Everyone,
I chose Ibis Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 as the final hotel to stay in for my trip because of the low price and the proximity to the BTS. I also need to think about how to get to the airport easily so this hotel would suit what I needed to get around the city quickly on public transport. I booked myself a basic room with a nice big bed and it was only around $100 a night - room only. The hotel has Ibis and Mercure, which are on the higher floor. I was on floor 14 and really, it didn’t matter, the hotel was quiet and I couldn’t hear any noise from the BTS or the traffic downstairs.
Check-in was smooth and I was able to go in earlier than expected. I didn’t think that was possible as I planned to leave my luggage there and rush to an event at Siam Paragon but it worked out well. The room wasn’t big but enough for me to open up a luggage. The only downside is there was no table for my laptop so I would need to work on the bed each night. This also not able to eat properly so I would eat in bed when I ordered Grab or buy from downstairs.
The bathroom was normal-sized sized, has the basic things needed for a stay. Housekeeping was very good, every day the room would be made and cleaned well. What I loved the most was the TV station offered. Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in on this trip, this place had the most channels available so I could watch the shows I’ve been following on TV (though I don’t understand them one bit without subtitles).
The best part of the hotel apart from the location is they have a 7-11 downstairs and a decent one too. Each night would I visit to get a night snack, fruit and any last-minute necessities. Such a gem to have one right at the hotel. I would stay at this hotel next time if I am in Bangkok again!
