Hi Everyone,

One of the places you can get a great bargain with local Japanese and International brands is the outlets. We’ve had some great finds over the years after visiting these outlets in Japan (especially sneakers) so we decided to check it out just before the new year. Rinku Town is very close to Kansai Airport so it is pretty popular for visitors who are waiting for their flights close by. Since we are going there as a day trip, we took the train from Namba station and got there around 45 minutes on the express train.

It consciously chose to go on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds but it was still pretty busy on the day. The outlet is huge, with two sides so it can literally take you a whole day to go through the shops. We have a fe brands in mind so those were the ones we were aiming to hit first before checking out the rest of the other brands which is further down on the list.

Stores range from clothing stores, shoes, toys, homeware and kitchenware. There is something for everyone. The best part is you can get tax free at most of these shops if you spend over 5000 yen or more. The savings from tax can add up to a considerable amount over the day so remember to bring your passport to take advantage of it.

Once you are tired and wanted a break, there are loads of options for food from food courts, cafes or restaurants. These food outlets does get very busy during peak period so best to eat before or after normal lunch time hours to get a seat. We ended up having food court as everyone wanted something different and it worked out well.

Overall this outlet didn’t disappoint us. We got some school shoes, sneakers, a few clothing items from Adidas and Nike for the boys. I really wanted to get a few kitchenware items but it was too heavy to bring home. I think if I was living in Japan, I would be spending lots of money to style up our home. Highly recommend this outlet if you are in Osaka, outlets could be a hit and miss as it is seasonal but so far, Japanese outlets have treated us well finding bargains at various stores.
