Opening of the Christmas Market(in the presence of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu) in the Royal Domain of Savarsin, Romania
Hello travelers
I don't even know how to start this post.
Even now a few hours after I've been here the emotions are still present, I honestly can't believe I was there.
The other day I found on the internet the information that in the Royal village of Savarsin there will be the opening of the Christmas Market, this event will be opened by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu, but I honestly couldn't find any information about the access of people here.
Such an opportunity to meet or see even from a distance Her Majesty Margareta and His Royal Highness Prince Radu were for me a dream quite hard to realize.
So we set off for the Savarsin Royal Domain, a quiet drive of about an hour, if you want to know more details and see what the Savarsin Royal Domain looks like (in winter both the Royal Domain and the Royal Park are closed) you can find them here.
After we parked the car with small steps we headed towards the entrance to the Royal Village, the closer we got the more nervous we got because we didn't know if we would have access to the Royal Village.
In a few minutes we were already near the stalls of the market, and yes, it is allowed access to all those who want to visit this market, there is no entrance fee.
From the information on the spot it seems that the market is open only a few days between December 19-22 between 10-19 hours, during this time all those who wish to cross the threshold can come here and enjoy the magic of Christmas and of course to leave here with a memory.
We were anxious to see each stall with what products will surprise us, I have to admit that after passing by most of the stalls we noticed that only local producers and craftsmen are present, it seems that the royal house gives great importance to local producers, honestly we didn't find here any products made on an industrial scale, many of the products sold are handmade, this is also the reason for the prices a little higher than some large scale products.
We had the opportunity to taste the products, a great way to know exactly what to buy.
Standing in front of a stall and thinking about what to buy here, I see Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu coming around the corner, I wanted to ask someone to pinch me, I couldn't believe it was true.
It seems that their presence at this market is already a habit, I dared to get even a little closer to them to take a few pictures, there were many reporters from several national TV stations in Romania.
I was impressed by the fact that the two of them chose to have a conversation with each local producer selling there but also to buy something from each stall.
After having had a good time visiting the market, they were invited to take a seat in front of a stage where a group of carol singers from Cluj County had the pleasure to perform some traditional carols especially for this moment.
Now, in closing, I can say that with a moment like this I don't know when I will meet again, I'm glad that I was able to be so close to the two of them, public appearances of the two of them are very rare, at the same time, I'm glad that I was able to visit the Christmas market in the Royal Village.
THE END!
