The third day in Da Lat of Viet Nam: Visiting a coffee shop and some small alleys.

Da Lat has a thousand of Coffee shop and places for youngsters to chill, relax and create a virtual life. In the third day staying here, I intend to have tea time in a stillness place with my great sister. I am quite confused when searching on the google map to find out the coffee house since the appearing of them disorders me in a minute. And one of the famous one attracts me, not only because the view but also I want to have a walk on the track. That coffeeshop named “Phia Chan Doi”.

Further more, over 1 week ago, I have seen an article of “Phia Chan Doi” on the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community and what a coincidence! My blood younger sister is a main bartender there. So this chance cannot be dragged on, I come here with an expansive mood.

The topography in this coffee house certainly lives up with its name. A small long rut which is poured concrete spreads along the Pine hill slope. Sometimes we just want to sky down the steep slope and lie down the pine tree to take a rest… No one tell me it is about over 1 km to pass this rut.

A wooden house suddenly hove in sight. In order to get there, we also need to pass the ladders which are made of wood. I find out my younger sister in the bar counter, she is making juices for visitors.

At first, we go around and look for the ideal sitting position. To make a little sudden, I say Hi to her with a banging on the table. And well, may you know the story keeps going with some greeting and asking each other after a long time we have not met.
I order a cup of back coffee for my great friend and a coconut coffee for myself. Although the view and the decor look artistic, I still keep my pose, immerse to our conversation passionately.

Finally I spend some last minutes in order to take some shots inside and outside the house, have a little chat with my younger sister and enjoy the fresh air in the bottom of the Pine hill.

In a sudden, I meet the owner of this coffee shop, he greets me and I do it back again to him. I do not know why I want to speak with him at this moment. He maybe also want to have a little chat.

He starts talking about the beginning of the coffee house. 10 years ago, this place is a coffee planatation, he bought it without the imagine of making profit. As usual, he would let the neighbours harvest the coffee when the season comes. This year has changed, he starts taking care of it again and collect the coffee beans to be a material in the bar counter. He also has a strawberry garden in the bottom of hill which is used to make strawberry juice or smooth for guests. He told to me that he also intends to make an small area of many kinds of vegetables and flowers.

I notice that the majority of guests coming here are youngsters and couples. In the metropolis, the lack of green space and fresh air causes a lot of disadvantages for human health and people’s spiritual life. This is also one of the reasons that attracts tourists and make Da Lat to become a famous tourist city in Viet Nam.

Walking back on the rut to get a taxi in the main road, I decide to explore some corners and small alleys in Da Lat. Da Lat has a lot of alleys angle downward with 2 sidewalks which are full of flowers. Mixing with its beauty is the small house. They are designed and decored to be appropriate to the conditions of the alley.

My third day in Da Lat ends up with 2 upcoming destinations in tomorrow. One is Truc Lam Buddhist Monastery and the rest of it is Bao Dai Palace 1. What do these places have that attracts me?
