There were many fascinating performances. Here is the Queen being entertained by her coterie.

I didn't not have much to do on a Sunday so I thought I would hang out with some pirates, fairies, and other "malcontents" at the "Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale California.

I have to say; I was pleasantly surprised by the immersive atmosphere created by the performers, vendors, artists and other characters who made the lake their home for the day.

It was a little warm, but not oppressively so, an there was thankfully many shady places to sit and relax and watch a performance.

I particularly enjoyed "Foolish Moonie Mortal" and his hilarious mix of comedy and tricks. He needs his own "Mr Bean" style TV show to feature his unique brand of comedy.

Hollywood; here is his web page.

There was also a frightening amount of shopping. I had fun perusing the fantastic wares; but I couldn't keep up with my friends who I think could perhaps shop forever.

I loved the design in this women's hat. It was similar to my mother's creations.

There was also much great food and libations to be had.

And some fantastic historical content from various periods.

There were also so many interesting details around the lake, I really felt immersed in this fairyland; and stories came to life in my mind.

And oh the characters; there were so many good ones.

This guy greeted me as I left, and asked if I would suck his tuber. I was laughing too hard to be offended; good comedy sometimes transcends good sense.

It is still going every weekend until May 22. Tickets are 38 Dollars but it is well worth it with the performances, sporting events and experiences.
