Driving Through The Moore Plains (World's Seconds Highest Motorable Road) And Tanglang La At Ladakh, India

in Worldmappin2 days ago (edited)

Radhe Radhe everyone!
Love and respect to everyone for showering so much love on my blogs.

So in my recent blog I have shared my experience about visiting the Drang Drung glacier and here's the link in case you missed it.

MOORE PLAINS

In today's blog I'll tell how we recharge the Moore plains and everything between. While we were on our way toward Leh we reached a place which was totally barren yet beautiful,Tanglang La. It connects Manali at Himachal and Leh which is the capital of Ladakh. With the elevation of 5300 meters above the sea level, Tanglang La lies between the villages of Pang in Ladakh.

THE ROCKY HILLS

The area is remote and isolated and I was completely in shock after reaching here. It was hard for me to believe that with every passing turn and few kilometres you reach a place totally different from another. Yet completely beautiful that you can't ignore. Its breathtaking view and the challenging road had made it famous among the adventure seekers, moto bloggers bikers and cyclists.

THE RUGGED MOUNTAINS

All I could see was the rugged mountains , completely barren and totally isolated situated so remotely that you only spot few travellers here. As the altitude is high here, the vegetation iis negligible on these rocky hills so you will rarely spot any animal and birds here. And I was lucky enough to stop one.

BIRD SPOTTED AT AN ELEVATION OF 4400 METERS

These harsh landscape with no trees at all is the defining feature of the Ladhaki platue. Well reaching here was the most difficult task, you have to cross through one of the highest motorable passes in the world which is Tanglang La.

And reaching here required proper planning along with a permit as it lies in the border area. If you visit here, make sure that you have enough food, water and other necessities with you and don't forget to check the weather conditions. As it's a high altitude pass, it shows quick change in the weather.

VEHICLE SPOTTED

We you much drive carefully here or have a experienced driver with yourself in order to ensure safe travels. The rocky roads and the high altitude have made it difficult for everyone to visit here. As the air is thin here, you must avoid visiting if you have altitude sickness and always carry medicine with yourself with enough supply of food and water.

SECOND HIGHEST MOTORABLE ROAD

After Tanglang La we reached the Moore plain within 2 hours and we were totally surprised and couldn't believe our eyes. Sometimes back we were in the middle of nowhere and now we were between the plains. Moore plain is a broad plateau which stretches for about 40-45 kilometres. The altitude here is nearly 4500 meters above the sea level. I was completely in shock to witness the vast and dramatic plain which is completely breathtaking. All you can see is the vast plateau and the blue sky ,to me it seemed like painting. The calmness in the area makes it more more tranquil and worth visiting. Well my today's destination was completely challenging but beautiful, totally beautiful. I hope you enjoyed the blog. For the records, I have taken these pictures by myself with my camera.
