Hola, amigos de la comunidad #WorldMappin, hoy quiero compartirles una experiencia que viví hace algunos años junto a mi esposa y mi hija, en un lugar que combina la tranquilidad de la naturaleza con el encanto del turismo cubano, Villa Cubanita, en la carretera que une Playa Larga con Playa Girón, dentro de la hermosa Ciénaga de Zapata.

En un post anterior les conté sobre La Ciénaga de Zapata, que es uno de esos lugares que sorprende por su diversidad. Es el mayor humedal del Caribe insular, con bosques, manglares, aves y cocodrilos, pero también con playas de arena blanca y aguas cristalinas. De pequeño fui muchas veces a Playa Larga y Playa Girón pero ahora estoy descubriendo que no solo son esos lugares, hay otros como la Villa Cubanita un centro que se construyó alrededor de una playa. Es un destino que mezcla aventura, naturaleza, y descanso.

Nuestra visita fue aprovechando que teníamos transporte y nos dimos esa escapada familiar. Pasamos 4 días alojados allí y sirvió como punto de partida para otras excursiones, como la visita a La aldea Taína en Guamá que les dejo el enlace del post que publique al respecto por si quieren verlo.

Estas vacaciones se quedan grabadas en nuestra mente, tener la posibilidad de desconectar de la vida diaria y las responsabilidades y conectar un poco con la naturaleza y sobre todo descansar. El lugar tiene alojamiento, restaurante, discoteca y una playa encantadora, así que hay de todo para pasarla bien sin moverse mucho.

Recuerdo que al llegar nos recibió una brisa cálida y el sonido del mar muy cerca. Las habitaciones eran sencillas pero cómodas, rodeadas de vegetación. En el restaurante probamos platos típicos con pescado fresco y mariscos, acompañados de ese sabor cubano que siempre deja ganas de repetir. No faltó la cerveza fría y también otras bebidas.

Durante el día disfrutamos del sol y la playa, pudimos disfrutar de la calma del entorno y como todo buen cubano conectamos con otras familias que también visitaban el lugar. En la tarde nos dimos una vuelta por los alrededores, donde el paisaje cambia entre zonas costeras, pequeños bosques y el verdor de la ciénaga.

Al caer la noche, la discoteca del lugar cobraba vida con música y luces, y era divertido ver cómo tanto los visitantes como los trabajadores se unían en un ambiente alegre y familiar.

De esta visita guardo varias fotos que muestran lo hermoso del sitio, la vista del mar, la villa desde distintos ángulos, el restaurante, la playa y algunos momentos familiares que me traen muy buenos recuerdos. Aquí les comparto algunos.

Si alguna vez viajan por la Ciénaga de Zapata, les recomiendo hacer una parada en Villa Cubanita. No solo por la playa, sino por la energía tan especial del lugar, donde se siente el contacto con la naturaleza y la hospitalidad cubana en cada detalle.

Villa Cubanita, between sun, beach and nature in the Ciénaga de Zapata.

Hello, friends of the #WorldMappin community, today I want to share with you an experience that I lived a few years ago together with my wife and my daughter, in a place that combines the tranquility of nature with the charm of Cuban tourism, Villa Cubanita, on the road that connects Playa Larga with Playa Girón, within the beautiful Ciénaga de Zapata.

In a previous post I told you about La Ciénaga de Zapata, which is one of those places that surprises with its diversity. It is the largest wetland in the insular Caribbean, with forests, mangroves, birds and crocodiles, but also with white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. As a child I went many times to Playa Larga and Playa Girón but now I am discovering that it is not only those places, there are others like Villa Cubanita a center that was built around a beach. It is a destination that mixes adventure, nature, and relaxation.

Our visit was taking advantage that we had transportation and we took that family getaway. We spent 4 days staying there and it served as a starting point for other excursions, such as the visit to La Aldea Taína in Guamá that I leave you the link of the post that I published about it in case you want to see it.

These vacations remain engraved in our minds, having the possibility of disconnecting from daily life and responsibilities and connecting a little with nature and above all resting. The place has accommodation, restaurant, disco and a charming beach, so there is everything to have a good time without moving much.

I remember that when we arrived we were greeted by a warm breeze and the sound of the sea very close. The rooms were simple but comfortable, surrounded by vegetation. In the restaurant we tried typical dishes with fresh fish and seafood, accompanied by that Cuban flavor that always leaves you wanting to repeat. There was no lack of cold beer and also other drinks.

During the day we enjoyed the sun and the beach, we were able to enjoy the calm of the environment and like every good Cuban we connected with other families who were also visiting the place. In the afternoon we took a walk around the surroundings, where the landscape changes between coastal areas, small forests and the greenery of the swamp.

At nightfall, the disco of the place came to life with music and lights, and it was fun to see how both visitors and workers joined in a cheerful and familiar atmosphere.

From this visit I keep several photos that show how beautiful the place is, the view of the sea, the villa from different angles, the restaurant, the beach and some family moments that bring me very good memories. Here I share some with you.

If you ever travel through the Ciénaga de Zapata, I recommend making a stop at Villa Cubanita. Not only for the beach, but for the very special energy of the place, where you can feel the contact with nature and Cuban hospitality in every detail.
