HIVE-ppy Birthday To Meeee!

Hello, travelers of this community! Another day, another beautiful memory here in Bantayan Island that deserves to be shared once again as I navigate my life here as a resident.

One of the simple yet relaxing places I visited earlier was the Bantayan Baywalk, a peaceful coastal spot where both locals and tourists gather to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and stunning ocean view. The place may look simple compared to other famous destinations, but the calm ambiance and beautiful scenery truly make it memorable for visitors who appreciate quiet moments near the sea. Earlier today, I spent time roaming around the baywalk while watching fishermen preparing their pumpboats and locals buying and selling fresh seafood near the shore. The reason why I came here with my boyfriend was to buy fish for breakfast, and I realized I should feature it in my Hive. I bought some fresh fish there, which made the experience feel even more authentic and close to the daily life of Bantayanons. From the baywalk, I could also see some small islands beautifully resting across the clear blue waters while the sea looked so calm, perfect, and stunning under the daylight. The sound of the waves together with the cool breeze created a peaceful atmosphere for us that instantly made me appreciate the simple beauty of island living even more. It was one of those quiet travel moments that may seem ordinary to others but becomes unforgettable because of how calming and genuine the experience feels.

Well, this is not just a travel blog since I am celebrating my first Hive birthday today here in this community where I mostly share my life stories. It is of great enthusiasm and contentment to have my first birthday here in Hive. It was just a random post I saw on X last year about this platform and saw some onboarders living in the same locality as me posting about this platform on Twitter. At first, I was hesitant, but something in me was telling me I should give it a go since I have always loved writing about things I love the most, like my lifestyle, traveling, food, and even the most mundane days of my life. I could have scrolled past what I saw on Twitter that time and still regret it. I could have tried another writing platform and still regret it. I would live my life happily, travel and eat in different places, and talk about my ideas and still wonder what I could have become if I chose writing in Hive.

It was my first birthday yesterday in Hive, and I almost forgot it since I never thought of how long I have already been here as I enjoyed the journey and meeting a lot of friends in this platform. It has been one year since I started writing in different communities of Hive, and many things have happened and can be shared. The sail was smooth and alive, and through this platform, my travel, food experiences, and daily life made sense and came to the arrival of being valued as readers read my blogs.

I have met many people in my town, especially when I was still on the onboarding program, interacted and connected with many Filipino Hivers through Discord accounts, and even crossed borders to connect with foreign friends who write beautiful and educational blogs in different communities. Worldmappin community has been a safe place to share my travel experiences and connect with other travelers who have already pinned thousands of travels on the maps. Daily Blog community gave life and meaning to my mundane life, and Wednesday Walk challenged me to roam and visit different corners in different places to see what is lying there for me. HivePH, my very own home in Discord, is where I was able to connect with many Filipino Hivers, especially at times of catastrophe and emergency, where the concept of bayanihan comes to life again.

In one year, I have written 238 posts, and I hope I can do my 365 posts in a year in Hive soon. I also wrote 1,427 comments, received 85,000 upvotes, and had 1,750 replies in just a year. I was awarded the Top 3 Most Upvoted Daily Blog badge, won in different small competitions in Hive, and was active on Snap before. I hope this year flourishes and brings me many happy experiences in this platform, as much as I will give to Hive unconditionally.
