Today I want to tell you about a fantastic experience I had some time ago in a beautiful part of Italy, in this post I will give you some tips to spend the best of your vacations in the Amalfi Coast.
Oggi vi voglio parlare di una fantastica esperienza che ho fatto qualche tempo fa in una bellissima parte dell'Italia, in questo post vi darò qualche consiglio per passare al meglio le vostre vacanze nella Costiera Amalfitana.
"Costiera Amalfitana " is a non translatable name, in fact if we want to find an English equivalent we could say "Amalfi Coast".... But it does not give the idea, the "coast" is something extremely related to that place, which is not simply a coast, but a unique place in the world with some negative sides and as many positive sides, to be taken as it is, without judging.
A very different reality from the one you would experience if you were in any other part of Italy; sometimes it seems like a complete mess, a unique chaos... and in the end it gives you back a unique beauty: that of the sea, of the nature, of the coast, of the warmth of the people and above all of the excellent food.
INTRODUZIONE
"Costiera Amalfitana" è una parola non traducibile, infatti se vogliamo trovarle un corrispettivo inglese potremmo dire "Amalfi Coast".... Ma non rende l'idea, la "costiera" è qualcosa di estremamente legato a quel luogo, che non è semplicemente una costa, ma un posto unico al mondo con alcuni lati negativi e altrettanti lati positivi, da prendere così com'è, senza giudicare.
Una realtà davvero diversa da quella che vivresti se fossi in qualsiasi altra parte dell'Italia; a volte ti sembra un casino completo, un caos unico nel suo genere... e alla fine ti restituisce una bellezza unica: quella del mare, della natura, della costa, del calore delle persone e soprattutto dell'ottimo cibo.
I chose this vacation spot to relax, I didn't relax much... but I understood a lot of things and therefore I was overall satisfied.
Ho scelto questo luogo di vacanza per rilassarmi, non mi sono rilassato molto... ma ho capito tante cose e quindi ne sono rimasto complessivamente soddisfatto

The Amalfi Coast (also known as Costa d'Amalfi) is a stretch of coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea located in the south of Italy in the province of Salerno in the Campania region.
The Coast is located south of the "Sorrento Peninsula" and north of the "Cilento Coast", overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and is bordered to the west by Positano and to the east by the beautiful Vietri sul Mare.
QUALCHE STORIA INTERESSANTE SU QUESTA TERRA
La Costiera amalfitana (conosciuta anche come Costa d'Amalfi) è un tratto di costa sul mar Tirreno che si trova a Sud dell'Italia in provincia di Salerno nella regione Campania.
La Costiera si trova a Sud della "penisola sorrentina" e a Nord della "costiera cilentana", si affaccia sul golfo di Salerno ed è delimitata ad ovest da Positano e ad est dalla bellissima Vietri sul Mare.
La Costiera Amalfitana è riconosciuta come Patrimonio dell'umanità dell'UNESCO fin dal 1997, ed è famosa in tutto il mondo per la sua bellezza naturalistica e paesaggistica.
La Costiera prende il suo nome dalla città di Amalfi che è il suo nucleo geografico fin dai tempi più antichi.
The Amalfi Coast has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, and is famous worldwide for its natural beauty and landscape.
The Coast takes its name from the town of Amalfi, which has been its geographical nucleus since ancient times.
In ancient times this land was part of the Roman Empire, as evidenced by several luxurious patrician villas that are still in the fullness of their beauty, one of the most important and large p is located in the town of Minori.
During the Greek-Gothic war, the inhabitants of the coast allied themselves with the Byzantines, and at the end of the conflict, gave them greater autonomy from the empire.
In 839 Amalfi was conquered by the Lombard principality of Salerno, but after a few months it rejoined the Byzantine empire and the Republic of Amalfi was formed, which in the 10th century became the Duchy of Amalfi.
Between the end of the X century and the beginning of the XI century the Duchy had its maximum expansion, at that time Duke Mansone I reigned.

Nell'antichità questa terra fece parte dell'Impero romano, come testimoniato diverse lussuosissime ville patrizie che ancora oggi sono nel pieno della loro bellezza, una delle più importanti e grandi p è ubicata nella cittadina di Minori.
Durante la guerra greco-gotica, gli abitanti della costa si allearono con i Bizantini, e alla fine del conflitto, diedero loro maggiore autonomia dall'impero.
Nell'839 Amalfi fu conquistata dal principato longobardo di Salerno, ma dopo pochi mesi si riunì di nuovo all'impero bizantino e si formò la Repubblica di Amalfi, che nel X secolo divenne il Ducato di Amalfi.
Tra la fine del X secolo e l'inizio dell'XI il Ducato ebbe la sua massima espansione, all'epoca regnava il Duca Mansone I.
Nel 1136 la Costiera venne conquistata dai Normanni e in seguito cadde in miseria, anche per le scorrerie di Pisa.

Since the second post-war period, its natural beauties, its picturesque landscapes and its ancient architectures have made it one of the favorite destinations of world tourism, a reason that has earned it the nickname of "Divine Coast".
The Amalfi Coast is chosen by many celebrities to spend their vacations, among all we can name: the first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, King Vittorio Emanuele III of Savoy, the entrepreneur Gianni Agnelli, the actresses Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo and Sophia Loren, the actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, the dancer Rudolf Nureyev, the basketball player LeBron James.
The Amalfi Coast is also known for its excellent popular cuisine and for some typical products such as "limoncello": a liqueur obtained from the lemons of the area (sfusato amalfitano) and the "concerto" (produced in Tramonti) liqueur obtained from a mix of 15 spices including: licorice, fennel, cloves, nutmeg, edelweiss and mint; the anchovies and preserved fish produced in Cetara, and the ceramics made and hand-painted in Vietri.
The most famous product of this land and of the nearby Naples is surely pizza, here you can really taste the best Neapolitan pizza in the world.
A partire dal secondo dopoguerra le sue bellezze naturali, i suoi paesaggi pittoreschi e le sue architetture antiche l'hanno resa una delle mete predilette del turismo mondiale, ragione che le ha valso il soprannome di "Divina Costiera".
La Costa d'Amalfi è scelta da numerose celebrità per trascorrere le loro vacanze, tra tutti possiamo nominare: la first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, il re Vittorio Emanuele III di Savoia, l'imprenditore Gianni Agnelli, le attrici Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo e Sophia Loren, gli attori Leonardo DiCaprio e Tom Hanks, il ballerino Rudolf Nureyev, il cestista LeBron James.
La costiera amalfitana è nota altresì per l'ottima cucina popolare e per alcuni prodotti tipici come per esempio il "limoncello": un liquore ottenuto dai limoni della zona (sfusato amalfitano) e il "concerto" (prodotto a Tramonti) liquore ottenuto da un mix di 15 spezie tra cui: liquirizia, finocchietto, chiodi di garofano, noce moscata, stella alpina e mentuccia; le alici e le conserve di pesce prodotte a Cetara, e le ceramiche realizzate e dipinte a mano a Vietri.
Il prodotto più famoso di questa terra e della vicina Napoli è sicuramente la pizza, qui si può gustare davvero la pizza napoletana più buona al mondo.
We arrived in Amalfi from my city in about 7 hours of driving, it was very hard to reach the destination especially because the roads in some places are not very beautiful, however we arrived and we found ourselves in front of something really special.
First of all I have to confess that the place is quite expensive, especially in the summer months, we stayed in the second half of July and therefore in one of the worst periods from the tourist point of view (from this time onwards I decided to always go on vacation when others do not go).
SCOPRIAMO ASSIEME AMALFI
Siamo arrivati ad Amalfi dalla mia città in circa 7 ore di guida, è stato molto faticoso raggiungere la meta soprattutto perché le strade in alcuni punti non sono molto belle, tuttavia siamo arrivati e ci siamo trovati davanti qualcosa di davvero particolare.
Innanzitutto devo confessarvi che il luogo è abbastanza costoso, soprattutto nei mesi estivi, noi siamo stati nella seconda metà di Luglio e quindi in uno dei periodo peggiori dal punto di vista turistico (da questa volta in poi ho deciso di andare in vacanza sempre quando non vanno gli altri).
The villages on the Coast are very perched and there is very little space to move around, a characteristic of the place that you need to know before moving... In fact, one of the most important businesses in relation to tourism is parking... And well yes! Unfortunately, the first impact I had was very negative because of this, all public parking lots are constantly full, if you want to park your car you have to use private parking lots that are underground garages or industrial sheds that are filled with cars in an absurd way.
I paesi della Costiera sono molto arroccati e c'è davvero poco spazio per muoversi, una caratteristica del luogo che è necessario conoscere prima di muoversi... Infatti uno dei business più importanti in relazione al turismo sono i parcheggi... E bene si! Purtroppo il primo impatto che ho avuto è stato molto negativo per questo, tutti i parcheggi pubblici sono costantemente pieni, se vuoi parcheggiare l'auto devi usufruire dei parcheggi privati che sono dei garage sotterranei o dei capannoni industriali che vengono riempiti di auto in modo assurdo.
I had just got a new car and for me to leave it in the hands of people I didn't know who put it who knows where was not a good experience ... but the thing even more frightening are the costs! A parking space costs between 5 and 13 euros per hour 😱 Not being a VIP this weighed heavily on my pocket... but whatever... it was that or nothing.
Io avevo appena preso l'auto nuova e per me lasciarla nelle mani di persone che non conoscevo che la mettevano chissà dove non è stata una bella esperienza... ma la cosa ancora più temibile sono i costi! Un parcheggio costa dai 5 ai 13 euro all'ora 😱 Non essendo un VIP questo ha pesato molto sulle mie tasche... ma vabbè... o facevi così o niente.
We had taken a house in Agerola, a hamlet that on the map looked pretty close to the coast, in a quiet area, on a mountain in the middle of nature and very close to a very famous path called "Sentiero degli Dei".
The problem this time is that if as the crow flies the coast was only 2 km away in reality for the altitude and the infinite number of hairpin bends it took at least 40 minutes to get to the coast, put another hour to find parking and you had practically lost the morning 😅 ... an error of judgment that next time I will certainly not commit more.
Avevamo preso una casa ad Agerola, una frazione che sulla mappa sembrava abbastanza vicina alla costa, in una zona tranquilla, su un monte in mezzo alla natura e vicinissimo ad un famosissimo percorso che si chiama "Sentiero degli Dei".
Il problema questa volta è che se in linea d'aria la costa distava solo 2 km in realtà per l'altitudine e per il numero infinito di tornanti ci volevano almeno 40 minuti per giungere alla costa, mettici un'altra ora per trovare il parcheggio e avevi praticamente perso la mattina 😅... un errore di valutazione che la prossima volta sicuramente non commetterò più.
The first day we were in the path called "The walk of Gods" a beautiful trekking on the ridge of the mountain with breathtaking views of the landscape of the coast.
IL SENTIERO DEGLI DEI
Il primo giorno siamo stati nel percorso chiamato "Sentiero degli Dei" uno splendido trekking sul crinale della montagna con viste mozzafiato sul paesaggio della costa.
It is called path of the gods because it seems to walk on the paradise, at a very high height, you can see all facets of the coast, the houses, the nature and finally the beautiful sea.
Si chiama sentiero degli dei perché sembra di camminare sul paradiso, ad un'altezza molto elevata, si possono vedere tutte le sfaccettature della costa, le case, la natura e infine il bellissimo mare.
This path is so beautiful that we tackled it on the first day, after the trip, the car and the stress due to the many things that had happened.... The beauty of this landscape calmed any problems.
Questo percorso è talmente bello che lo abbiamo affrontato il primo giorno, dopo il viaggio, la macchina e lo stress dovuto alle tante cose che erano successe... La bellezza di questo paesaggio ha superato ogni problema.
The Walk of Gods is a nature trail almost 9 kilometers long, we have done only a part, located inland in the Amalfi Coast, ideal for hiking and trekking, the path starts in Agerola and arrives in Positano, a walk in the purest and most unspoiled nature.
Il Sentiero degli Dei è un percorso naturalistico lungo quasi 9 kilometri, noi ne abbiamo fatta solo una parte, situato all’interno nella costeria amalfitana, ideale per fare escursioni e trekking il percorso parte Agerola e arriva a Positano, una passeggiata immersi nella natura più pura e incontaminata.
The path starts from Bomerano, a small hamlet of the town of Agerola, and ends in Positano, the whole route takes about 7 hours and is not very easy to walk.
There are points where the path is very narrow and overhanging and it is certainly not recommended for those suffering from vertigo.
In some places there are panoramic terraces overlooking the coast, a truly unique view! 😍
Il sentiero parte da Bomerano, una piccola frazione della città di Agerola, e termina a Positano, tutto il percorso dura circa 7 ore e non è molto facile da percorrere.
Ci sono punti in cui il sentiero è molto stretto a strapiombo e non è di certo consigliato a chi soffre di vertigini.
In alcuni punti si aprono terrazze panoramiche sulla costa, una vista davvero unica! 😍
The walk on the paradisiacal landscape of the Amalfi Coast was really a unique experience, from here on I can say I started my vacation. I recommend this experience to everyone.
La camminata sul paradisiaco paesaggio della costiera Amalfitana è stata davvero un'esperienza unica, da qui in poi posso dire di aver iniziato la mia vacanza. Consiglio a tutti questa esperienza.
This path is so beautiful that it has the power to make you completely forget about everything else, this is one of my favorite feelings when I face this kind of experiences, it's like entering a deep state of awareness being in harmony with all nature.
Questo sentiero è talmente bello che ha il potere di farti dimenticare completamente di tutto il resto, questa è una delle sensazioni che preferisco quando affronto questo tipo di esperienze, è come entrare in un profondo stato di consapevolezza essendo in armonia con tutta la natura.
When we walked the path of the gods there were not many tourists and the few we met were all foreigners, there were very small children who faced the path without any fear. Really incredible.
Quando abbiamo percorso il sentiero degli dei non c'erano molti turisti e i pochi che abbiamo incontrato erano tutti stranieri, c'erano bambini piccolissimi che affrontavano il percorso senza alcuna paura. Davvero incredibile.

This is what we see from above along the ridge of the mountain that goes up to Agerola, it is nice to stop and admire the landscape below.
There are many small, well-organized tourist villages where you can spend wonderful vacations.
Questo è ciò che vediamo dall'alto lungo il crinale del monte che sale fino ad Agerola, è bello fermarsi e ammirare il paesaggio sottostante.
Ci sono tanti piccoli paesi turistici ben organizzati in cui è possibile trascorrere stupende vacanze.
The roads are very peculiar, it doesn't look like a seascape, it is very difficult to drive on these roads for those who are not used to it. the locals and the buses are used to go at very high speeds and are often scary.
Le strade sono molto particolari, non sembra un paesaggio di mare, è molto difficile guidare in queste strade per chi non c'è abituato. le persone del luogo e gli autobus sono abituati ad andare ad altissime velocità e spesso fanno paura.
E' molto bello prendere il traghetto e vedere la costa da lontano, da qui si possono scorgere le morfologie delle cittadine che sono sorte nelle insenature naturali della costa, le stesse cittadine che oggi sono molto famose per il turismo e per il lusso.
It is very nice to take the ferry and see the coast from afar, from here you can see the morphologies of the towns that have arisen in the natural inlets of the coast, the same towns that today are very famous for tourism and luxury.
This is the profile of the coast that you can see from the sea, something unique, completely different from any other landscape that we can admire.
Questo è il profilo della costa che si vede dal mare, qualcosa di unico, del tutto diverso da qualsiasi altro paesaggio che possiamo ammirare.
This day when we went out on the ferry, it wasn't the best, but the scenery is really beautiful even with some clouds.
Questa giornata in cui siamo usciti con il traghetto, non era delle migliori, ma il paesaggio è davvero bello anche con un po di nuvole.
All in all the trip was a good experience, it was not a real relaxing vacation because we encountered several obstacles that many times were difficult to deal with.
CONCLUSIONE
Tutto sommato il viaggio è stata una bella esperienza, non è stata una vera e propria vacanza rilassante perché abbiamo incontrato diversi ostacoli che molte volte sono stati difficili da affrontare.
Sicuramente vi consiglio di venire in questi bellissimi luoghi fuori dai mesi estivi in modo da non incontrare caos e vivere più serenamente tutte le esperienze.
I would definitely recommend coming to these beautiful places outside of the summer months so that you don't encounter chaos and can enjoy all the experiences more peacefully.
Sicuramente vi consiglio di venire in questi bellissimi luoghi fuori dai mesi estivi in modo da non incontrare caos e vivere più serenamente tutte le esperienze.
What I recommend above all is not to take an accommodation too far from the tourist destinations, and to find a solution with parking space included, such as a hotel, even if the cost will be higher you will gain so much in the stress of having to drive around and find parking.
For example, you could stay in Minori or Majori, arriving by train, and then move from there with the ferry services to the various interesting tourist spots on the coast, since the ferry has very low prices and above all works very well.
Quello che vi consiglio soprattutto è di non prendere un alloggio troppo distante dalle mete turistiche, e di trovare una soluzione con posto auto compreso, ad esempio un albergo anche se la spesa sarà più alta ne guadagnerete tanto nello stress di dover girare in macchina e trovare parcheggio.
Per esempio potreste alloggiare a Minori o a Majori, arrivando anche in treno, e poi da li muovervi con i servizi di traghetto per i vari punti turistici interessanti della costa, dato che il traghetto ha prezzi molto contenuti e soprattutto funziona molto bene.
The Amalfi Coast, its landscapes and its nature are something to see at least once in a lifetime because it is one of the most beautiful and characteristic places in Italy.
La Costiera Amalfitana, i suoi paesaggi e la sua natura sono qualcosa da vedere almeno una volta nella vita perché è uno dei luoghi più belli e caratteristici dell'Italia.

It depends from when you go, go to minori or majori and park your car there... Than go with the ferry along the coast!
PS in minori there is one of the Italian best bakery ever! You have to try a dish called "delizia al limone" is something special.
