Philippine Islands #7: Tulang Diot Island of Camotes, Cebu

in Pinmapple3 years ago

Hello Hive!

After four months of hiatus, it's time for another entry under my Philippine Islands series. For those who didn't know about this series, it's basically a travel blog (as with most of my posts) that will showcase the islands here in the Philippines that I have visited. Being an archipelago that is composed of 7,641 islands, I know I won't be able to visit all of them, but I want to promote as many as I can.

In this entry, I'll be showcasing an island in Camotes that I least expected to be that beautiful. By the way, I guess you already know that we visited Camotes Islands three weeks ago and I already shared that sunset view from Santiago Bay. If you haven't checked that out yet, please refer to the link below:

It was on our second day in Camotes and we visited two caves already. We were about to visit the third one but decided to ditch the plan because we were tired of seeing another cave knowing that there will be another one in the afternoon. We decided to go to Tulang Diot Island to have lunch there and probably spend the early part of the afternoon before heading to another cave and then Lake Danao which would be our last destination for that day.

TULANG DIOT ISLAND
Perfect Summer Getaway in Northern Cebu

It's officially summer here in the Philippines and when you say summer, it's the perfect time to go to the beach! It's just awesome that when you search for white-sand beaches, there's no other place than the Queen City of the South (Cebu), the home of white sand beaches. For beach lovers, add this beach/island to your list!

Tulang Diot Island is located in San Francisco, Camotes, Cebu. It's one of the many public beaches here in Cebu that are easily accessible to tourists. With a lot of public beaches that can easily get crowded during summer, there's no perfect getaway than Tulang Diot Island especially for those who hate crowded places and busy islands.

I actually didn't expect anything from this beach, to be honest. I only saw a few photos from my friends who went there, but I really didn't pay much attention to it. I didn't research about the beach nor tried to set a serious effort on having expectations. I just wanted to be there with friends from my new job.

We rented a multi-cab for our transportation throughout the whole duration of our stay in Camotes. It's for convenience in getting around the island especially with the pandemic where transportation is really a problem. Tulang Diot Island is just a 5-minute boat ride from Tulang Daku, San Francisco. We paid Php 10.00 for the environmental conservation fee and Php 400.00 for the roundtrip boat ride.

The moment our boat reached the island, we were greeted by that white sand and crystal clear water of Tulang Diot Beach. I was shocked to find another beach that could rival those in Bantayan Island, Moalboal, or even Boracay Island. Though it's not as fine as that in Boracay, I'm amazed by the cleanliness and whiteness of the sand.

The moment we settled down, I immediately took my camera and survey the whole beach. It's not that big as Basdaku in Moalboal, but I love its register to the camera. I had fun taking photos amidst the heat of the sun. I didn't mind if I'll get sunburn. It feels like everywhere I point my camera, the photos will come out awesome. I was really enjoying that I forgot I need to help to prepare for our lunch. Good thing my friends are cool with it.

The weather might have contributed to how I perceived the beach's beauty, but I can't deny that I was really blown away by how this beach has escaped my radar. Mind you, my standard for a white sand beach is really high considering I visited some of the most awesome beaches here in the Visayas regions.

There were only a few people on the beach even if travel restrictions here in Cebu are now lifted. I guess people are still afraid of the virus even when transmissions often happen at home or at work where people stay most of the time. Being in an open space where only a few people are present and the sun is on full blast will surely lower your chance of getting COVID. Tulang Diot Island is highly recommended. It has been added to my list of beautiful beaches to visit here in Cebu.

I'm usually contented by just chilling under the shade when I go to beaches, but I couldn't resist the water. It's as if I was being drawn to take a dip. I never mind getting a tan. My one year of skincare could be ruined, but it was worth it.

If you're looking for a countryside feel or you just want to be alone and away from the noise of the world, Tulang Diot Island is best for you. The serenity of the place is simply beyond my expectations.

Wow truly stunning with the clear water, white sand and blue. I am not a beach girl and I want to go there!

I'm really a mountain or hiking person, but I'm falling in love with the beach every time I go there.

I'm taking this as seal of approval from you! 😁 Thank you!

Yes do. It is a great post and I bookmarked it. I like to bookmark places I would like to travel someday. :)

Oh my God, that white sand and that view is breathtaking. Tulang Diot Island is truly beautiful.

It feels like everywhere I point my camera, the photos will come out awesome.

Hi @ybanezkim26... Excellent article, there are many images that you captured and they are all splendid.... The Tulang Diot Island of Camotes, Cebu is a true paradise. . The super blue sky, radiant sun, crystal clear water, white sand.... Thank you for sharing this content.

Thank you so much for the compliments! Made me so proud of my place.

wow the colour of the water! Looks like paradise for me

It was an unexpected paradise for me!

You are making it hard for me haha, I'm about to give everything up and move back to the Philippines, I miss everything about the P.I. you got a place for rent? LOL, Awesome post thanks for giving me flashbacks.

Sadly I don't have a place for rent. 😂 But I can help you find a place should you push through. But not immediately please! 😂 We're a mess with this pandemic. Maybe when this government is removed and a new one is elected.

OK, I'll wait til I had enough here, haha. Governments just make things worse, its kinda sad why anyone would want them anymore, I am sure we could get along just as good without them if not bettter.

That's true! They use force to enforce law and order. And yet they are the first to instigate chaos in order for them to be relevant.

Exactly..... They create the Chaos, basically false flags then blame someone and make laws to control us. I for one am tired of war, like really tired of it.

That is one beautiful beach! This is the first time I've heard about Tulang Diot Island. Yohann I'm sure missed it during his trip to Camotes. Now I understand why Camotes ranks second on your list of out the three Cebu islands.

True! I didn't expect the beach to be that beautiful. And to think we have a lot of famous and beautiful beaches in Cebu.

I think the ranking just made sense. 😂

Ahh 😍 wish we could start traveling again. Is it still okay to cross the islands now?

Yes! As long as it's part of Cebu, there's no problem. They say that even crossing to Negros has no more restriction. I would love to go our province and just spend a few days there.

Yes, that would be a welcoming change after being bound for a year now. Some islands closed their borders like Romblon due to some cases. I guess it depends on the LGU.

Yes. It depends on the LGU. Which also depends on their capacity to handle cases. It's just right to close borders if the LGU can't handle the surge in cases. Good thing Cebu has manageable number of daily cases. We can't really afford to go back to ECQ.

It looks so warm and peaceful out there... wish I could spend a few days on the beach right about now.

It was warm and peaceful. Very relaxing. Like it can remove your stress even just a few hours of stay in the island.

You should go to the beach whenever it's possible in your area. This pandemic taught me to grab every opportunity to unwind because we don't know what will happen tomorrow.

Wow such a nice place. How I wish I could visit there someday! But Uzbekistan is too far.

Fraud! 😂 Uzbekistan, Mambaling.

Photo must be osam

Excellent pictures, and the beach looks spectacular for the family to enjoy and have a good time. The white sand, the blue sky and the crystal clear water make this place an oasis of paradise.

Excelentes fotografías, y la playa se ve espectacular para el disfrute de la familia y pasarla bien. La arena blanca, el cielo azul y el cristalina hacen de ese lugar un lugar paradisiaco un oasis. me encanto.

Happy Birthday to the Hive Community

Nice beach it would be nice to drink a coffe there ;))

Iced coffee. 😂 Drinking hot coffee in that blazing sun is a double heat stroke. 😂

hahah I didn't hope it was that hot but I think then for iced coffee it gets hot very quickly but it would still hurt to see it live ,,;))

That just looks like paradise. It looks so peaceful there. You must be so lucky living there. It's really difficult for us to go to the beach right now. The nearest beach near us is a 1-hour drive and the travel requirements is such a hassle. The cases here are also surging. I hope COVID ends soon.

I truly want to visit Cebu one day, maybe Hive will pay for my trip in the future hehe.

Anyway, stay safe always! Keep on inspiring us!

Thank you! 🥺🥺🥺
