RE: Definitely Cebu #27: Weekend Hike in Monterazzas de Cebu

in Pinmapple2 years ago

Been here in Cebu since 2007 and I haven't visited Taoist Temple yet. There was one time we tried, but it was closed during the pandemic. I'll try to visit again soon. Maybe I'll hike going there.

Wow! You came from a prominent family! Those surnames are so famous.

The main gate of Monterrazas is along the Banawa area, but it's guarded and I am not sure whether anyone could simply pass through. When the road going up to this subdivision was constructed , some of the lots along this planned Road was bought by the construction company and paid a huge amount to the landowners beyond market value. Some were lucky because mostly the farmers were poor. Btw, the Guadalupe mangoes are famous for their sweet variety, you should try it, its skin is so thin , fleshy and with no fibers and if you try it with tablea and "budbod", then you´ll have a very good breakfast...hahaha!

Lol, our ancestors were pioneers in Guadalupe. When campaigning, Mayor Rama frequently visited my cousins for support. The street V. Rama Avenue was named after our great uncle Victoriano Rama. When I last visited 3 years ago, the town drastically changed, so many changes occurred that I didn't imagine. I was enrolled in 4th Year High at San Jose Recoletos when my father was assigned to the construction of the Pink SIsters Monastery way back 1970s in Cebu CIty. I had fond memories of a great time while I was there for a year. Have a great Friday ahead!
