Greetings people!
Early in the morning on Saturday, I went to a fuel station to buy fuel so I could use it to finish up pending work. It was just 7,000 naira with me, and I decided to use 5,000 naira to buy fuel while I keep the remaining 2,000 naira for other expenses of the day, especially food.
I got there and tried paying with my ATM card, but it didn't work. I did it three times, and it was still the same thing, and unfortunately for me, I got debited 5,000 naira. I showed the pump attendance, and she gave me assurance of reversal, which I didn't bother with because I know how such things work. It can only become an issue for me if it lasts for two days without reversal, which by then, I would get my craziness vibes and storm the fuel station
I needed the fuel by all means, so I emptied my account (the remaining 2,000 naira) to buy the fuel.
I returned home and utilised the fuel very well while expecting two things: *either a reversal or my clients coming to pay for my services because I needed money at hand, but none of these worked.
After the work for that day, with no usable cash with me, I just zeroed my mind not to go to church the next day (Sunday). I was very sure that the trumpet was not going to be blown that day; it can't be my turn to miss church that the trumpet will blow, never! Others have been boldly missing church, and nothing happened.
So I slept late on Saturday with the mindset of not waking up early the next day for church.
Unfortunately for me, waking up early has been my lifestyle, so I found myself awake by 4:20 a.m. I login to my WhatsApp to meet a message from Precious, and it reads:
Goodmorning Kingsley, please call me when you're ready.
Precious is a lady that we fellowship in the same church, we belong to the same unit, and we also live on the same street. I recently took on the responsibility of footing her transport bills to church because she always complains that it's a lack of transport fare that makes her miss church often.
Upon seeing her message, I just felt weak. I realised that someone's means of going to church was on my head, and if I tell her NO, that means she won't go to church, and what if the trumpet blows? That will give me an easy ticket to hell.
I had to find means to swap some funds to Fiat and I withdrew from the POS spot that early morning around 6:30 a.m.
Precious came, and off we went. When we were coming out of my street to the main road, people gazed their eyes on us; they were thinking she slept in my house, but I did not send anybody.
Church ended, I transported her back home, and at the end of the day, I was just left with a little penny, which I budgeted to use for lunch.
While inside my bed in my room, one of my neighbours knocked on my door. I went there to meet him, and he told me that water had finished in the tank, and he pleaded for me to pump water. I'm the only one that owns a generator in the compound, and they depend on me for water.
"Bro, I don't have money to buy fuel." I answered him and stylishly went inside my room. Then he knocked on my door again, handed me 400 naira, and pleaded that I should top it up (add 300 naira) and buy 1 litre of fuel.
I looked at how desperate he was. He was about to have his bath when he noticed that the water had finished, and to make the situation worse, someone used their general toilet without flushing.
Please don't puke as I explain;
They're using a general toilet that has no lock and it's situated outside. With that, anybody (including strangers) can enter, drop, and walk away without flushing.
I collected the money and went to buy 1 litre of fuel. I got home, pumped the water, and I saw the smiles on the faces of the guy.
I succeeded in making him happy, but for me, hunger began to send missiles at me. I was contemplating on how to manage the 300 naira left with me in order to quench the stomach bite, then electricity appeared like magic and I became excited.
Hey! We don't see electricity often here, so anytime it comes, we push to utilise it.
I left my hunger mode and went to iron clothes.
I needed to be 'gingered' while ironing clothes in order not to feel hungry, so I went online and downloaded Terry G's mixtape. That's how I fired up and almost burned some clothes.
Nigeria People here know the crazy songs from Terry G. In case you don't know Terry G and want to know him, just go to YouTube and search "Terry G Free Madness"
Thank you for reading.
Sometimes you need to speak up when you are in this kind of situation or else, you will have yourself to be blamed.
Yes bro.
It affected me a lot. A whole lot.
Thank you🙌
So funny but why would Precious see it as an everyday thing to foot her bill to church? That's not good to me. Is that how you plan footing her bill till eternity? Lol
Sorry about your predicament and I hope your money get reversed back.
Lol😂
I'm sure she'll pick up her conscience in a very short time 😅
Thank you princess

I can only imagine that kind of tight spot but as for me, food is extremely extremely extremely important and I’d have that settled first before doing anything else cos I could faint😭.
