After the terrible photos of Ukrainian fields with wheat on fire, it would seem that nothing could be more terrible. As kids, we were always told we needed to respect bread, human labor, and the lives that were mercilessly and senselessly destroyed during the Holodomor. Bread is a sacred symbol, it is much more than just food. And this symbol literally burns, is being mercilessly destroyed. What kind of creatures do you have to be to do such a thing.

Хліб - це сакральний символ, це набагато більше, ніж просто їжа. І цей символ буквально горить, безжально знищується. Що за тварюками треба бути, щоб таке чинити.

I am consumed by all-encompassing pain and hatred when I hear news about new shelling in different parts of Ukraine. There is not a week or a day without mourning. I cry every time I hear about the bodies of people who were taken out from under the rubble in Chasiv Yar. These bastards killed another child - a 9-year-old boy who was just sleeping in his bed at home. The russians not only steal the lives of adults, they steal the childhood, health and lives of children. God sees everything, and karma will catch up with the children of all those who are involved in this - in action or in silence. Everyone will be responsible for their actions or inaction.
Мене поглинає всеосяжний біль та ненависть, коли я чую новини про нові обстріли в різних куточках України. Немає й тижня, й дня без жалоби. Плачу щоразу, коли чую про тіла людей, які дістали з-під завалів в Часовому Яру. Ці виродки вбили ще одну дитину - 9-річного хлопчика, який просто спав в своєму ліжку, в себе вдома. Ці сволоти не лишу крадуть життя дорослих, вони крадуть дитинство, здоров'я та життя дітей. Бог бачить все, і карма наздожене дітей всіх тих, хто причетний до цього - ділом або мовчанням. Кожен нестиме відповідальність за свої дії чи бездіяльність.

Along with the hostilities that are actively taking place along the entire front line, a debate is actively developing about whether it is worth granting Ukrainian citizenship to russians who "opposed the war in Ukraine" and what the procedure should be for this. My opinion on this matter is quite radical - now is definitely not the time and situation to flirt with the enemy. This differentiation efforts regarding "bad" "good" russians can distract attention from the struggle and concentrated efforts against the enemy. Currently, all russians are bad for me personally. Perhaps this is how the defense mechanism works, because it is always easier to generalize, but anyway. We will deal with the good russians after the war, and it's definitely not the time to issue citizenships all around to the so-called "russian oppositionists" simply because they are against putin.
На фоні бойових дій, що активно точаться уздовж усієї лінії фронту, активно розвивається дискусія щодо того, чи варто надавати росіянам, які "виступили проти війни в Україні", українське громадянство та яка має бути для цього процедура. Моя думка з цього приводу досить радикальна - зараз точно не той час та ситуація, щоб загравати з ворогом. Це розпилення на "поганих" та "хороших" росіян може відволікати увагу від боротьби та сконцентрованих зусиль проти ворога. Наразі особисто для мене всі росіяни погані. Можливо, так працює захисний механізм, бо генералізувати завжди легше, але менше з тим. Розбиратися з хорошими росіянами будемо після війни а тим паче видавати громадянство направо та наліво так званим "російським опозиціонерам" просто за те, що вони проти путіна.

In the wake of this discussion, a petition was created about the need to introduce an exam for all persons seeking to obtain Ukrainian citizenship. The exam will include knowledge of the Ukrainian language, history, constitution and anthem. I consider this to be adequate and absolute basic knowledge, which must be possessed at least out of respect for the country whose citizenship you want to obtain. This is the absolute minimum. I believe that Ukrainian citizenship should be elitist, like in Japan or the UAE. In these countries, it is almost impossible to become a citizen if you were born elsewhere. Unlike russia, which distributes its cheap, useless passports like leaflets on the streets. The value of these citizenships is even felt differently, isn't it? If you don't even take into account the countries themselves.
На хвилі цієї дискусії було створено петицію про необхідність запровадження іспиту для всіх осіб, якіпрагнуть отримати українське громадянство. До іспиту входитимуть знання української мови, історії, конституції та гімну. Вважаю це адекватним та абсолютним базовим знанням, яким необхідно володіти хоча б з поваги до країни, громадянство якої ти хочеш отримати. Це абсолютний мінімум. Вважаю, що українське громадянство повинне бути елітарним, як в Японії чи ОАЕ. В цих країнах стати громадянами майже неможливо, якщо ти народився деінде. На відміну від росії, яка роздає свої дешеві, нікому на потрібні паспорти, як листівки біля переходу. Правда, цінність цих громадянств навіть відчувається по-різному? Якщо навіть не брати до уваги самі країни.
So, in my opinion, we should find a middle ground and "admit to the club" only those who have really distinguished themselves before our State and are worthy of its citizenship. And, of course, passing the exam is still a mandatory condition. The petition has already received the required number of votes and has been considered by the president, who instructed Prime Minister Shmyhal to work on this issue. So we are waiting for the result!
Тож на мій погляд ми маємо знайти золоту середину та "долучати до клубу" лише тих, хто справді відзначився перед нашою Державою та вартий її громадянства. І, звісно, іспит це не скасовує. Петиція вже набрала необхідну кількість голосів та була розглянута президентом, який доручив прем'єр-міністру Шмигалю опрацювати це питання. Тож чекаємо на результат!
