Мандрівка дитячою залізницею / Ukrainian Children's Railway (UA/EN)

Нарешті, моя дитяча мрія здійснилася - я таки покатався на потязі дитячої залізниці. Скільки років я собі казав, та може колись, іншим разом та інші відмовки, а пару разів вона просто не працювала. І ось цей день настав.

Finally, my childhood dream came true - I finally rode the children's railway. For years I told myself, maybe someday, another time, and other excuses, and a couple of times it just didn't work. And now this day has come.

Все сталося досить спонтанно і незапланованої. Гуляючи парком з друзями бачимо, як юрба дітей побігла до залізничної колії вітати поїздок, який неквапливо рухався залізницею періодично подаючи сигнал.

It all happened quite spontaneously and unplanned. While walking in the park with friends, we see a crowd of children running to the railroad tracks to greet the passengers, who were leisurely moving along the railroad, periodically giving a signal.

Ну поїхав, та й поїхав, подумали ми, аж поки гуляючи, не забрели на залізничну станцію, звідки рушає потяг у свою коротку мандрівку. І прийшли ми саме в момент, коли до чергового рейсу лишалось 5 хвилин, а касирка запросила до поїздки, оскільки це останній день роботи дитячої залізниці в цьому році.

Well, let's go, let's go, we thought, until, while walking, we stumbled upon the railway station, from where the train was departing on its short journey. And we arrived just in time, when there were 5 minutes left until the next flight, and the cashier invited us to take a ride, since this was the last day of operation of the children's railway this year.

Сумніви розвіялись і ми сіли у невеличкий вагон. Дитяча залізниця, це умовна назва, адже в основі її інфраструктури лежить давня вузькоколійна залізниця, доречі, яка і досі функціонує в деяких українських регіонах.

Doubts were dispelled and we got into a small carriage. The Children's Railway is a conditional name, because its infrastructure is based on an old narrow-gauge railway, which, by the way, still operates in some Ukrainian regions.

Це повноцінний локомотив на дизельній тязі, який тягає за собою два вагони, а дитячою ця залізниця зветься не через те, що катає дітей, а тому, що керують усім процесом діти. Так діти, які обрали для себе майбутню професію залізничника і вчаться таким чином основним навичкам і спеціальностям, від машиніста локомотива, до провідниці.

This is a full-fledged diesel locomotive that pulls two cars, and this railway is called a children's railway not because it carries children, but because the entire process is controlled by children. That is, children who have chosen for themselves the future profession of a railwayman and thus learn basic skills and specialties, from locomotive driver to conductor.

Звісно, все навчання відбувається під кураторством дорослих спеціалістів, але видно по дітях, що таке навчання їх захоплює. І саме таким і має бути навчання, на мою думку, в подяка Укрзалізниці, що таке підтримує. Мандрівка видалась хоч і короткою, біля 30 хв., зате неймовірно цікавою і захопливою.

Of course, all the training takes place under the supervision of adult specialists, but it is clear from the children that such training fascinates them. And this is exactly how training should be, in my opinion, in gratitude to Ukrzaliznytsia for supporting it. The journey turned out to be, although short, about 30 minutes, but incredibly interesting and exciting.

P.s. Під час короткого маршруту діти вчаться маневрувати локомотивом, причіпляти-відчіпляти вагони, переводити стрілки колії, подавати спеціальні сигнали, перевіряти квитки та ін.

P.s. During the short route, children learn to maneuver a locomotive, hitch and unhitch cars, move track switches, give special signals, check tickets, etc.
