The horizon of my locality is broadened by paddy cultivation

in Photographers4 months ago

My home district is Bargarh(Odisha, India). Attabira is our assembly constituency and Bargarh is a parliamentary constituency.

Bargarh district has 7 sub-divisions. And Attabira is one of them. Bargarh is known as the rice bowl of Odisha, because of paddy production. And among the different sub-divisions of Bargarh, Attabira tops the list.

As you can see in this shot(photographed by me today while I was on the way to Market), the sowing season has started in my locality

The horizon of this region is broadened chiefly by paddy cultivation. And that is the main source of income for the people in this locality.

While the rain clouds loom at the top of the horizon, the green scenic beauty pacifies the bottom of the horizon.

If you are a Nature lover and love to see such a large agriculture field, it is surely a treat to watch and enjoy the beauty of it.

I was raised in my village and have spent a significant amount of time in village culture, Nature, paddy fields, etc. At that time, it was all connected by earthen roads. But over the last 10 years, development has reached the rural areas of our locality.

The purchasing power of rural people has also gone up. At one point in time, paddy per quintal was only 250 INR if I could recollect the days of the late 2000s. The income of farmers was meager and quite struggling.

For any major functions/events farmers were compelled to sell their land to meet their needs. Things have changed a lot. MSP has been revised many times in the last two decades. Now the MSP for paddy per quintal is 2300 INR.

But for Odisha, it is 3100 INR per quintal at par with Chhatishgarh, because the Government has promised to give a bonus on top of MSP to make it 3100 INR per quintal.

So finally Farmers will be making a good amount of profit and they can ensure a healthy saving.

Geopolitically if I could read the trends properly, then manufacturing, agriculture, etc are likely to make upward revisions, and service sectors might correct lower in this decade and onwards.

I am always against rampant freebies and handouts, I would always advocate for incentivizing production. Because if you give a good MSP to farmers, they will be motivated to work hard to produce more. But if you hand out cash then that will eventually be mis-utilized.

Hard work/production should always be incentivized. Primary production is always the base layer, without that, neither the service nor food processing industry can survive.

So I returned in the evening, it was about to rain at that time, I went out to the Garden and took a few snaps of Pumpkin and Bitter Gaurd flowers.

The dried leaves of Banana leaves you could see in this shot. It was just a random shot.

संध्या बंदन- A daily ritual in our home in the evening time. We light "diya" in front of the Shami Tree(Prosopis Cineraria), Peppeal Tree(Ficus religiosa), and Tulsi Plant(Basil).

If anything that I consider mysterious is "नींद"(Sleep), There is a transition from being Awake to falling asleep. People who can catch that unconscious during this transit are truly awakened.

A similar event also happens in this physical world-- day and night. We light lamps (Diyas) at that transition from day to night and again at daybreak.

These days I am exploring different meditation techniques. I usually rely on the Sound of silence and the sound of Nature to meditate. In the next Blog, I will share more on my meditation things.

Signing off now.

Thank you.
