The Oldest Girlie's 13th Birthday Party with Friends

Over the weekend, my oldest daughter got to have her 13th birthday party. She decided she wanted to invite 5 girls and have a craft party.

We had to have the party one week after her birthday because her friend was away and she wanted her to come to the party. Three of the girls are in a Bible study with her and two of them she wanted to invite as well.

The crafts were all set out for them to work on during the party. I told her we could do one together with all the girls and then they could do what they wanted.

So the first activity was making a necklace with little charms. They could choose the chain they wanted and add the little charms with loops. This one is "salt and light."

Matthew 5:13-16 - “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Some other projects included making little keychains or embroidering their initial on a napkin.

The girls also sand happy birthday and enjoyed some cake, chips, pretzels, and drinks. My daughter even made her own cake this year and decorated it with Hershey Kisses in the shape of a 13 and crunched up chocolate chip cookies. It was really tasty!

All in all, the girls had a great time! Crafts, food, and fun - what could be better?
