motherhood is one of those beautiful journeys in life feel with lots of memories, for me I feel one can never be prepared enough for the journey, I am one of those that believe that there's no manual for motherhood, you learn on it, because every day comes with new things were get to unlearn and relearn. it's a journey which peoples experiences are different.
###For this discussion i'll be talking about mother in relation to giving birth
motherhood starts when one is pregnant , at this stage a woman becomes careful of what she eats, drinks, because of the child in her womb, a woman becomes selfless and more concerned about the health of the baby in her womb denying herself of some pleasures. having this experience myself really make me to appreciate mother's. they are some food I had to stay off and some activities I loved doing but couldn't because of pregnancy this is when I understood that being a mother isn't for the weak.
when the baby is born another phase of motherhood begin. Taking care of the child is now a priority, your baby become very important that you have to make sacrifices, staying awake at night, walking around with the baby, staying in a hot house for a while, paying close attention to the child, at this stage you might feel a little frustrated 😔 but it's a bittersweet moment.
Your little baby becomes a teenager, this is a very delicate stage in your child's life and you as a mother, at this stage mother child relationship can be broken 💔 . here you have to look out for your child making sure he doesn't keep bad company. here most children feel their mothers hate them because sometimes they scold. (I use to think my mum hate me when I was this age) here you have to invent ways of relating with your child, such that your mother and child relationship won't be broken. have seen many parents loose their children at this stage.
Then come the adulthood age, at this age your influence on your child reduces, but as a mother you have to make deliberate ways to be in your child's life, you give them advice hoping they will take it, you also have to share in their pains and celebrate their success.
The journey of a mother doesn't end and it's such a beautiful experience.
