Hey, is this community a good place to post photos of found wild fungi to be identified? Asking for the benefit of a new user that's pretty intimidated by the Hive

hi there
you say, he is intimidated -- in what sense? is he scared with strict or complex rules, or what?
this is a good place to post about mushrooms. one may post here anything you want, art, cooking recipes, just beautiful pictures and photos. of course, the plagiarism rules apply to our community as well. if your friend posts other people's photos, he will have to clearly indicate the source where the material was taken from.
and I can name two more names: Natural medicine / Amazing nature communities.
will there be answers to his questions? it is possible but not guaranteed. as in the whole blockchain, there are more authors than readers here, and just a few of them are mushroom experts :)
I'm sure, if your friend's only interest is in identifying of specific species, then he may find other better places (outside of the Hive blockchain) that will be better tailored for this. actually it depend on the species. some are very easy and all are in the know, other are 'god knows what it is" and need a microscope and spore print.
well - my best wishes!
Hi @qwerrie, thanks for your reply
Their words: it's all very hard. Referring to the interface of Ecency. I think with time and patience they'll come around. Just very used to traditional social media like Farcebook and finding change difficult and unappealing...
Of course, no guarantees 🙂
Yeah okay, the ID was my idea . They sent a photo of some mushrooms found in a pot plant this morning and I was all like: Hey! You should post that to Hive. Someone might be able to ID it! There's a Fungi Lovers community
Just trying to encourage a move away from Web 2.0 social media I suppose... 😅
Thank you!
we recently had the very same post from @a0i, who got all of a sudden something Amanita-like in his flower pot indoors. amazing.
just my advise - write a story, maybe around it, maybe not - and add the question to it (on a visible spot ;) not just drop a pic with question and thats it, lets wait for result ;) this type of post would be less rewarding and benefittable, I think..
I can agree with this. that friend should also try Peakd.com!
