Hah you found a false morel. Some people eat them around here but they contain a toxin that can build up in your system if you eat too many. One or two that are fully cooked should be fine to consume though.

I've never actually eaten one of these are they similar tasting as a morel?
They are relatives, I hardly distinguish between them. Good tasty mushroom.
I see, next time I find one I'll give it a try, very carefully of course lol.
