Mi idea era publicar esto más cercano a las premiaciones de los Oscars, pero, no lo logramos. Sin embargo, aquí estamos para hablar de esta película que hizo un revuelo grandísimo, desde mi punto de vista por varias razones, la primera, por los antecedentes y que es una historia de la vida real, y la segunda, porque se han convertido en una de las pocas películas de habla hispana en tener un gran revuelo.
La sociedad de la nieve es una historia de la vida real, ambientada en 1972 cuando un vuelo procedente de Uruguay se accidenta en los Andes, dejando a 29 de 45 pasajeros como sobrevivientes, quienes se enfrentan a un escenario realmente retador, en el que deben tomar difíciles decisiones para poder sobrevivir.
My idea was to publish this closer to the Oscars, but we didn't make it. However, here we are to talk about this movie that made a huge stir, from my point of view for several reasons, first, because of the background and that it is a real life story, and second, because they have become one of the few Spanish speaking movies to have a big stir.
The Snow Society is a true-life story set in 1972 when a flight from Uruguay crashes in the Andes, leaving 29 of 45 passengers as survivors, who face a truly challenging scenario in which they must make difficult decisions in order to survive.
El primer factor que remueve algo en mi por esta película, es el hecho de que sea una historia basada en la vida real, puesto que, entender que todo lo que vemos en la película es real, e incluso puede ser mucho más crudo de lo que observamos es desgarrador. El otro factor bastante desafiante es confrontarte con la moralidad y lo "correcto" moralmente.
Hablar de esta película, es quizá un poco más sencillo, porque al ser una historia real, casi todos sabemos como transcurrieron las cosas, entonces podemos hablar con un poco más de libertad sin caer en los temidos "Spoilers". Tengo que decir que si estaba documentada sobre el caso, pero, tampoco estaba super especificada de las cosas, por ende, considero que la película no asume que conoces el hecho, realmente incia desde un hilo conductual bastanta básico.
El primer acto de película, aunque crudo, nos deja ver la esperanza del ser humano ante las situaciones difíciles, y cómo reacciona buscando adaptarse cuando las cosas no salen como esperan, tal cual como los sobrevivientes reaccionaro cuando escucharon por radio la paralización de la búsqueda. Más de 60 días pasaron desde ese momento.
The first factor that stirs something in me for this movie, is the fact that it is a story based on real life, since, understanding that everything we see in the movie is real, and may even be much more raw than what we observe is heartbreaking. The other quite challenging factor is to confront you with morality and what is morally "right".
Talking about this movie, is perhaps a little easier, because being a true story, almost everyone knows how things transpired, then we can talk a little more freely without falling into the dreaded "Spoilers". I have to say that if it was documented about the case, but, it was not super specific about things, therefore, I consider that the film does not assume that you know the fact, it really starts from a very basic behavioral thread.
The first act of the film, although crude, lets us see the hope of human beings in difficult situations, and how they react by trying to adapt when things do not go as expected, just as the survivors reacted when they heard on the radio that the search had been halted. More than 60 days have passed since then.
60 días en los que se enfretan a cuestionamientos, un verdadero sentimiento de lucha y desde mi punto de vista, un contexto de empatía, entre ellos, desde los más conocidos hasta los más extraños comienzan a crear una red de apoyo basado en quienes fueron liderando al grupo. En este sentido, la trama se mantiene firme y es bastante humana.
Ahora bien, la película es Narrada por Numa, un personaje con el que podemos empatizar, no solo por su deseo de vivir, también porque voz es la más humana que podemos identificar durante la película. Esta cinta es una obra de arte, más allá de cómo se trata la historia, también lo es por su producción.
Una de las partes más desgarradoras es cuando tienen que optar por comer los retos de su compañeros fallecidos, con todo lo delicado que puede resaltar ejemplificar esto, las escenas salen realmente pulcras. Transmiten dolor y te hace caer en cuenta, sobre lo mucho que estaría dispuesto a hacer el ser humano por sobrevivir.
60 days in which they face questioning, a real sense of struggle and from my point of view, a context of empathy, among them, from the most known to the strangers begin to create a support network based on those who were leading the group. In this sense, the plot holds firm and is quite human.
Now, the film is narrated by Numa, a character with whom we can empathize, not only because of her desire to live, but also because her voice is the most human we can identify during the film. This film is a work of art, beyond how the story is treated, it is also a work of art because of its production.
One of the most heartbreaking parts is when they have to choose to eat the challenges of their deceased companions, as delicate as it may be to exemplify this, the scenes come out really neat. They convey pain and make you realize how much a human being would be willing to do to survive.
La película tiene sus momentos, tiene picos dónde podemos ver dinámicas que los hacen reír aún cuando estan viviendo momentos sumamente retadores. Todos los personajes de esta historia dejan huella en nuestra mente, y el estilo en que la producción de la película logro eso, es realmente magistral.
La sociedad de la Nieve es tal cual como la describo en el título, es desgarradora y sincera, pero, también es un homenaje a este lamentable accidente, que honra a los que con mucho empeño lograron sobrevivir y a quienes no lo hicieron también. Es una película que debes ver con pinzas, prestando atención a lo más pequeño y sintiendo realmente la historia, para mí, una película que todos deberíamos ver.
The movie has its moments, it has peaks where we can see dynamics that make them laugh even when they are going through extremely challenging moments. All the characters in this story leave an imprint in our minds, and the style in which the film's production achieved that is truly masterful.
The Snow Society is just as I describe it in the title, it is heartbreaking and sincere, but it is also a tribute to this unfortunate accident, honoring those who managed to survive and those who did not. It is a film that you must watch with tweezers, paying attention to the smallest thing and really feeling the story, for me, a film that we all should see.

Aún no he visto esta película pero recuerdo de adolescente haber visto junto a mi mamá la primera película que narraba la historia. Si esa ya era bastante cruda seguramente esta lo es más y por todos los puntos que mencionas parece una película que vale la pena ver.
