"WEREWOLF BY NIGHT" Marvel Especial: Other side of the coin [ESP/ENG] [HALLOWEN CONTENT]

    WEREWOLF BY NIGHT es una película recientemente publicada en Disney+ este 7 de Octubre como presentación especial por parte de MARVEL STUDIOS como en conjunto a las festividades de Hallowen, nos mostrará como las cosas aveces tienen un mundo distinto al que pensamos, estará alejado de los superhéroes centrándose en el mundo de las bestias y monstruos. Ya que es una película reciente y que por ende no todos la habrán podido ver hasta el momento me limitaré a ser superficial con las cosas que ahonda.

    Esta es la primera presentación especial del UCM siendo dirigida por Michael Giacchino quien es un Director de Bandas Sonoras y Director de Cine, por la parte de Banda Sonoras es reconocido por; Ratatouille, Up, Los Increíbles, la trilogía de Spider-Man de Tom Holland, Star Trek y pare de contar, y como Director de cine siento este su debut. Los protagonistas de esta película ronda alrededor de Gael García Bernal (conocido también por Héctor en COCO) en el Papel de Jack Rusell y Laura Donelly como Elsa Bloodstone. El Género que engloba este filme es Terror, Acción y Fantasía, siendo el primero un poco leve más no quita que la historia que envuelve todo tenga aspectos sobrenaturales y Easter Eggs para los amantes del Universo MARVEL.

    La historia comienza mostrando un poco de contexto acerca que en el mundo aparte de los superhéroes (mostrando una página como de un libro haciendo referencia a los vengadores) existen también los Monstruos en la oscuridad del mundo y personas dispuestas a pelear con ellos, en este caso haciendo mayor énfasis en la Familia Bloodstone quienes son los que más se han destacado, siendo una familia poseedora de una Bloodstone, una reliquia/piedra capaz de hacerle frente a cada ente sobrenatural que habita la tierra, su último portador el Patriarca Ulises Bloodstone recientemente ha fallecido y por consiguiente deberá hacerse una reunión para determinar el próximo portador de la piedra.

    Podemos notar que al inicio nos muestran variedad de monstruos conocidos y algunos no; el nosferatus, sirenas, wendigo y un Pie Grande (Dato curioso: Ese no es pie grande, es una persona capaz de convertirse en un ser similar. Este pertenece a un Comic).

    En el mundo existen cuentos de seres sobrenaturales y que en algunas ocasiones son leyenda, en esta película son revelados como reales abriendo variedad de introducciones al mundo de MARVEL, y si se preguntan esta película presuntamente transcurre en el tiempo actual del Universo 616, es decir, dónde se encuentran los Vengadores y los 4 Fantásticos como defensores de la Tierra.

    Se nos presenta a Jack Russel un "cazador" invitado a participar al llamado tras la muerte del Patriarca Bloodstone juntos a otros cazadores más. En su entrada por un pasillo se puede observar que hay unos grabados en la pared que para los FANS de los Comic seguro reconocerán parte con facilidad. La apariencia de Jack es elegante y con rastros de pintura en su rostro, por alguna razón parte de su vestimenta.

    Hasta ese punto que entra en escena y se pasea notamos que la película tiene un toque inicial como lo fue WandaVisión, escena blanco y negro con toques clásicos (por ejemplo, la banda sonora y ambiente que nos presentan), nos introducen a los demás cazadores y muestran un poco de su personalidad.

(Dato curioso: Los Monstruos que vean en la pared son los mismos que salen al inicio en la apertura de la película.)

    Elsa Bloodstone se ve llegar la cual se nota no tiene invitación alguna, sin embargo, es bienvenida aunque no de buena manera. Podemos sentir como espectadores que no tiene las mismas intenciones que los demás cazadores, algo se trae entre manos y no sabremos si no hasta más adelante mediante avance el filme, lo que podemos notar es que lleva muchos años apartada de los Bloodstone.

    Gracias a una Charla con Verusa un personaje encargado de esta reunión es que nos dan los primeros indicios de que tan poderosa es la Bloodstone y las características que puede brindar a su portador.

    La reunión comienza luego de la charla entra Elsa y Verusa hablando acerca de las muertes confirmadas de monstruos por parte de cada cazador (exceptuando a Elsa). Se presenta un ataud y dentro lo que se puede entender como una grabación del Patriarca Bloodstone de parte de su cadáver posiblemente mecanizado contando como será la forma de elegir al siguiente líder de los cazadores y próximo portador de la piedra.

    De acá en adelante se nos irá revelando la historia y los sucesos poco a poco, harán referencias a Comics quizás no tan exactos pero dejados a la interpretación de los sucesos que van siendo mostrados.

    La duración de la película tiene la misma que muchos capítulos de series poco menos de 1 hora, aunque esperaba más de terror no puedo negar que la banda sonora, el formato que es presentada y algunas escenas cumplen dejan al espectador bastante intrigado con preguntas de más, ya que es algo distinto a la saturación de los superhéroes que vemos hoy en día.

    Volveré a recalcar que LA BANDA SONORA ES MAGNIFICA, bastante inmersiva y acertada, tanto que no te hace pensar que estás viendo algo de Marvel. Un punto a favor es que muestran sangre y escenas de acción un tanto gráficas, así que es bueno tener un aire nuevo dónde no se contienen tanto en lo que muestran al espectador. Espero más actualizaciones respecto a esto, no soy fan del contenido del MCU pero sinceramente esto cambia las cosas.

    WEREWOLF BY NIGHT is a movie recently released on Disney+ this October 7th as a special presentation by MARVEL STUDIOS as part of the Halloween festivities, it will show us how things sometimes have a different world than we think, it will be away from superheroes focusing on the world of beasts and monsters. Since it is a recent movie and therefore not everyone will have seen it so far I will limit myself to be superficial with the things it delves into.

    This is the first special presentation of the UCM being directed by Michael Giacchino who is a Soundtrack Director and Film Director, on the Soundtrack side he is known for; Ratatouille, Up, The Incredibles, Tom Holland's Spider-Man trilogy, Star Trek and so on, and as a Film Director I feel this is his debut. The stars of this film revolve around Gael Garcia Bernal (also known for Hector in COCO) as Jack Rusell and Laura Donelly as Elsa Bloodstone. The genre that encompasses this film is Horror, Action and Fantasy, being the first one a little light but it does not take away that the story that surrounds everything has supernatural aspects and Easter Eggs for the lovers of the MARVEL Universe.

    The story begins by showing a bit of context about that in the world apart from superheroes (showing a page like a book referring to the avengers) there are also the Monsters in the darkness of the world and people willing to fight them, in this case with more emphasis on the Bloodstone Family who are the ones who have stood out the most, being a family that possesses a Bloodstone, a relic/stone capable of facing every supernatural entity that inhabits the earth, its last bearer, Patriarch Ulysses Bloodstone has recently passed away and therefore a meeting must be held to determine the next bearer of the stone.

    We can notice that at the beginning we are shown a variety of monsters known and some not; the nosferatus, mermaids, wendigo and a Bigfoot (Fun fact: That is not bigfoot, it is a person capable of becoming a similar being. This one belongs to a comic book).

    In the world there are tales of supernatural beings and that sometimes are legend, in this movie they are revealed as real opening variety of introductions to the world of MARVEL, and if you are wondering this movie allegedly takes place in the current time of the 616 Universe, that is, where the Avengers and the Fantastic 4 are as defenders of the Earth.

    We are introduced to Jack Russel a "hunter" invited to participate in the call after the death of Patriarch Bloodstone together with other hunters. At his entrance through a hallway we can see that there are some engravings on the wall that for Comic FANS will surely recognize part of it easily. Jack's appearance is sleek with traces of paint on his face, for some reason part of his outfit.

    Up to that point that he enters the scene and walks around we notice that the movie has an initial touch like WandaVision was, black and white scene with classic touches (for example, the soundtrack and atmosphere we are introduced to), we are introduced to the other hunters and shown a bit of their personality.

(Fun fact: The Monsters you see on the wall are the same ones that appear at the beginning of the opening of the movie).

    Elsa Bloodstone is seen arriving and it is obvious that she has no invitation, however, she is welcomed although not in a good way. We can feel as spectators that she does not have the same intentions as the other hunters, she is up to something and we will not know if not until later in the film, what we can notice is that she has been separated from the Bloodstones for many years.

    Thanks to a talk with Verusa, a character in charge of this meeting, we get the first hints of how powerful the Bloodstone is and the characteristics it can provide to its bearer.

    The meeting begins after the chat between Elsa and Verusa talking about the confirmed deaths of monsters by each hunter (except Elsa). A coffin is presented and inside what can be understood as a recording of Patriarch Bloodstone from part of his corpse, possibly mechanized, telling how the next leader of the hunters and next bearer of the stone will be chosen.

    From here on the story and the events will be revealed little by little, they will make references to Comics perhaps not so accurate but left to the interpretation of the events that are being shown.

    The length of the film is the same as many episodes of series just under 1 hour, although I expected more horror I can not deny that the soundtrack, the format that is presented and some scenes meet leave the viewer quite intrigued with questions for more, as it is something different from the saturation of superheroes we see today.

    I will stress again that THE SOUNDTRACK IS MAGNIFICENT, quite immersive and accurate, so much so that it doesn't make you think you are watching something from Marvel. A plus point is that they show blood and somewhat graphic action scenes, so it's nice to have a new look where they don't hold back so much on what they show the viewer. I look forward to more updates on this, I'm not a fan of the MCU content but honestly this is a game changer.
