Review: Keramat (2019), Is It As Good As Keramat 2 (2022)?

Hello my dear friends…
The last time i talked about movie, it was the Keramat 2 which i watched for the first time. As i never watched the first and original of Keramat, i persistently thinking that i want to watch the first one. The reason why i have to watch the first one was because its related to the second movie and i want to understand the whole chain of story. The other reason is because i like the directing and producing style of the second movie so i want to compare them with the first one. Most of all, the reason why i watched the first movie of Keramat was because its available on Netflix. I am not one to watch from an illegal platform and i dont want to do some effort to buy or purchase a horror movie that got my interest. So my dear friends here, if you’re interested after reading my review, head to your Netflix and watch this movie because i dont think you will regret it.

The directing of the movie is exactly the same as the first Keramat which is very interesting. I thought that the second Keramat was already so natural with their delivery lines, but the first Keramat took it to the next level. Since the movie was released in 2009, the camera that they use at the time is not as good ad now which makes the movie feels even more raw and real. While watching them, i thought that i watched an amateur video (which actually really the concept). For the characters, they also have some similarities, most of all, its the temperament of some characters which still not as bad as the characters in Keramat 2. Eventhough they have some “angry” and “impulsive” characters, i think that the range was still normal this making this movie tasted even more raw. No one feels like a character of a movie, they’re all feels like our friends in schoold, neighborhood, workplace, etc.

The movie was good yet they leave some questions in my head. I dont even understand why they can move to another dimension? What it is so wrong that they do till their friend got kidnapped to another dimension? The title of the movie is Keramat which means sacred. Usually, you need to do something sinful or forbidden in a sacred place or sacred ritual to anger the ghost. I dont see the weird and wrong things they do in the movie that can make the ghost kidnapped their friend. It seems like it was just happened randomly. Thus, i am happy that in Keramat 2 they make it better with giving them some reason to anger the ghost in there. Overall, the movie is good and fun to watch as its not the type of horror movie with a lot of jumpscares and natural lines delivery that makes us the viewer feels included.
