Today I was looking for something interesting to watch and this option crossed my path, I remember more than a year ago I got to see some kind of trailer and I thought I would watch it later, here we are two years later.

Lo que vemos es que Danielle al parecer tiene una especie de sugar daddy, aquí vemos a una Danielle bastante confiada, esto es lo que nos muestran al inicio, en un momento donde está con él recibe una llamada de su madre para pedirle que asista al shiva, es decir, una conmemoración fúnebre que tienen en esta religión y así concluye esa reunión.

Lo siguiente es la escena del Shiva, toda la trama está desarrollada en esta conmemoracion funebre, y apartir de aquí veremos a la protagonista enfrentar situaciones incómodas, además de luchar para que no descubran las mentiras que iba diciendo, pareciera que el mundo entero de Danielle se hubiera reunido en ese lugar, entre ellas su ex novia y también su sugar daddy que también ocultaba un secreto, aquí todos al parecer tenían algo que ocultar.

I can't comment much about the movie because the whole scene takes place in one place and to say more becomes a total spoiler, but I feel like it's something everyone should give it a try.
And what happens is that it seems to me that it is something different from what I am used to, which for me makes it good, seeing the situations that Danielle gets into makes you feel that you are sweating too, that you feel that you are ready of being captured, you feel nervous, they say it's black humor, it seems more ironic to me.
This film shows us much more than a simple comedy, it also covers deep issues such as religion, by this I mean hypocrisy, also misogyny, they also talk about sexuality a bit, all these issues are present but they make them pass off as if it wasn't a big deal. Danielle's character really goes through such embarrassing situations, that it makes you want to run away from there or at least that's what I would have done in the first place, in addition to also having to endure constant criticism from people, starting with her parents.
I think this will be all I can contribute to this film, what do you say you will give it a chance?
No puedo comentar mucho acerca de la película porque toda la escena se desarrolla en un solo lugar y decir más se convierte en un total spoiler, pero siento que es algo que todos deberían darle una oportunidad de ver.
Y lo que sucede es que me parece que es algo diferente a lo que estoy acostumbrada, lo cual para mí lo hace bueno, al ver las situaciones en las que se mete Danielle te hace sentir que tú también estás sudando, que sientes que también te van a descubrir, te sientes nervioso, dicen que es de humor negro, me parece más bien ironía.
Esta película nos muestra mucho más que una simple comedia, también abarca temas profundos como en la religión con esto me refiero a la hipocresía, también la misoginia, también hablan de la sexualidad un poco, todos estos temas están presentes pero los hacen pasar como si no fuera gran cosa. El personaje de Danielle realmente pasa situaciones tan bochornosas, que te hacen querer irte corriendo de ahí o al menos eso yo habría hecho en primero lugar, además de también tener que soportar la crítica constante de las personas, empezando por sus padres.
Creo que esto será todo lo que puedo aportar de esta película, ¿qué dices le darás una oportunidad?

El tema cultural (creencias) y la actitud puede a veces sufrir confrontación. Esta película comparte lo que las familias ocultan y el humor negro parece ser un instrumento para contar.

Voy a buscar esa película porque trabaja Rachel Sennott quien protagonizó "Bodies Bodies Bodies", película estrenada el pasado año y que recomiendo.
Ella es la verdadera estrella del film, su actuación es muy buena y espero que me guste su trabajo en este film.

La vi y me encantó. El manejo del humor, de la mano de situaciones comprometedoras en un contexto no sólo reigioso sino bastante ortodoxo fue una mezcla genial. Me gustó mucho la narración, la forma en que fueron revelando aspectos de la historia y esa comedia negra que es (¡todo lo que le pasa a esta chica durante un funeral!), honesta, divertida y reflexiva. Una comedia que no te deja indiferente.
