Ustedes saben que yo amo las RomCom, son mi lugar seguro en cualquier momento del año, pero especialmente en ésta época es cuando el auge por estás películas crece y con ello también crece mi emoción por ver ésta clase de películas, además casi siempre se suelen estrenar nuevos proyectos que obviamente requieren de mi ojeada 🤣🤣, tal es el caso de la nueva RomCom de Prime Video que llegó a mi gracias a tik tok y de inmediato tuve que ir a verla y traerles mi reseña de ella. Que hablando de comedias románticas, ¿Pueden creer que aún no he ido a ver Con Todos Menos Contigo? 😭😭, me siento decepcionada de mí misma, pero en fin, el día de hoy no es para hablar de eso, sino para platicar sobre Ascenso ✈️ ️💕.

You know I love RomCom, they are my safe place at any time of the year, but especially at this time of the year is when the boom for these movies grows and with it also grows my excitement to see this kind of movies, plus almost always new projects are released that obviously require my eye 🤣🤣, such is the case of the new RomCom from Prime Video that came to me thanks to tik tok and I immediately had to go and see it and bring you my review of it. Which speaking of romantic comedies, can you believe I haven't gone to see Anyone But You? 😭😭, I feel disappointed in myself, but anyway, today is not to talk about that, but to talk about Upgraded ✈️ ️💕.

Estrenada el pasado 9 de Febrero en la plataforma de streaming Prime Video, ésta película nos cuenta la historia de Ana, una becaria de artes que tras detectar un pequeño error en una de las subastas de artes dirigida por su jefa, es llevada a Londres para trabajar como su asistente siendo ésta la gran oportunidad de su vida profesional, sin embargo lo que Ana no sabía es que en el aeropuerto ocurriría lo que realmente cambiaría su vida, al ser cambiada de categoría en su vuelo a primera clase, Ana conoce al que será nuestro protagonista y a quien le mentirá diciendo que básicamente ella lleva la vida de su jefa, a partir de allí todo cambiará en la vida de nuestra protagonista 💕.

SourceComencemos con Ana, la verdad fue un personaje que me gustó bastante, obviamente no apoyo el hacerle creer a personas que recién estás conociendo que tienes una vida que realmente no es tuya, o el querer de alguna forma usurpar la vida de tu jefa 🤣, sobre todo porque me hace pensar “¿Cuánto tiempo pensabas que podías mantener esa mentira?” 🤣🤣, pero fuera de eso realmente siento que es un personaje bien construido, es una chica bastante centrada en sus metas laborales y se nota que está súper comprometida con eso y que es capaz de hacer muchas cosas por lograr sus objetivos, de hecho lo que más me gustó de ella es que a diferencia de otras protagonistas de películas de romance, Ana se mantiene muy firme en las ocupaciones de su trabajo, intenta sobresalir sin llevarse a nadie por delante y sin desmeritar el trabajo de los demás, además nos muestran que efectivamente es una persona talentosa en su labor, y todo esto mientras está la existencia del interés amoroso, que podríamos pensar que puede actuar como distractor momentáneo, pero en ésta película concretamente no es así, aunque verán que esto al final es un punto negativo a discutir.
Let's start with Ana, the truth was a character I quite liked, obviously I don't support making people you're just getting to know believe that you have a life that's not really yours, or wanting to somehow usurp your boss's life 🤣, especially because it makes me think "How long did you think you could keep that lie? " 🤣🤣, but out of that I really feel she's a well built character, she's a pretty focused girl on her work goals and you can tell she's super committed to that and is capable of doing a lot of things to achieve her goals, in fact what I liked most about her is that unlike other leading ladies in romance movies, Ana is very adamant about the occupations of her job, She tries to stand out without taking anyone else's work for granted and without belittling the work of others, and we are shown that she is indeed a talented person in her work, and all this while there is the existence of the love interest, which we might think could act as a momentary distractor, but in this film it is not so, although you will see that this is a negative point to discuss at the end.
SourceWilliam por otro lado es, a mi punto de vista, el personaje más gris de la película 😕, siento que se pierde muchísimo en la trama y además no nos cuentan casi nada de él 🤷🏻♀️, sólo sabemos que es millonario y que su familia, especialmente su mamá, tiene montones de contactos en la ciudad capaces de conseguir hasta un unicornio, pero más allá de eso no se nos dice mayor cosa de él, más que un protagonista más bien se siente como un personaje secundario y eso no es algo bueno cuando hablamos de que es el interés amoroso de la protagonista, honestamente no sé si esa falta de fuerza en la trama se debe a la misma trama, o se debe al actor 🤔. En éste caso, yo considero que es su mamá quien tiene mayor relevancia en la historia, de hecho es quien tiene la mayor interacción con Ana y en muchas escenas se siente que es ella quien los dirige a ellos dos a un romance medio forzado 🤣, lo cual viene fantástico si ese es objetivo que persigues con la historia, pero no me queda claro si eso es realmente lo que se quería transmitir en ésta película 🤷🏻♀️.
William on the other hand is, in my point of view, the greyest character in the film 😕, I feel that he gets lost a lot in the plot and also we are told almost nothing about him 🤷🏻♀️, we only know that he is a millionaire and that his family, especially his mum, has lots of contacts in the city capable of getting even a unicorn, but beyond that we are not told much about him, more than a protagonist he feels like a secondary character and that's not a good thing when we talk about him being the love interest of the protagonist, honestly I don't know if that lack of strength in the plot is due to the plot itself, or it's due to the actor 🤔. In this case, I consider that it is his mother who has more relevance in the story, in fact she is the one who has the most interaction with Ana and in many scenes it feels that she is the one who leads them both to a half-forced romance 🤣, which is fantastic if that is the goal you are pursuing with the story, but it is not clear to me if that is really what they wanted to convey in this film 🤷🏻♀️.
SourceSeré completamente directa en éste punto, yo personalmente no siento que ésta sea una película romántica, si bien es así como la venden y es el objetivo que la misma perseguía, considero que en el trayecto de la trama eso se perdió, y aquí rescato lo que mencioné sobre Ana y su compromiso absoluto con su crecimiento laboral, aquí el romance fue un elemento totalmente secundario, de hecho mi buena amiga @erigm en su reseña nos hace una comparación bastante acertada (que si no han visto su reseña vayan a verla), y es que ella hace la comparación entre el personaje de la jefa de Ana y Miranda Presley de El Diablo Viste a la Moda, pero si vamos un poco más allá yo me atrevería a decir que éstas dos películas tienen más elementos en común, y el más relevante de ellos es justamente éste recorrido de superación profesional que tienen las protagonistas de éstas dos historias, y de hecho El Diablo Viste a la Moda no es una película de romance y justamente ésta historia tampoco lo es.
I will be completely direct on this point, I personally do not feel that this is a romantic film, although that is how they sell it and that is the goal that it pursued, I think that in the course of the plot that was lost, and here I rescue what I mentioned about Ana and her absolute commitment to her job growth, here the romance was a totally secondary element, in fact my good friend @erigm in her review makes us a fairly accurate comparison (if you have not seen her review go see it), and she makes the comparison between the character of Ana's boss and Miranda Presley from The Devil Wears Prada, but if we go a little further I would dare to say that these two films have more elements in common, and the most relevant of them is precisely this journey of professional improvement that the protagonists of these two stories have, and in fact The Devil Wears Prada is not a romance film and precisely this story is not either.
SourceAdemás de esto, otro elemento que creo no le favoreció a la dinámica romántica de ambos personajes, es el ritmo que lleva la película, siento que la historia comienza con un excelente ritmo pero mientras más se acerca al final, más acelerado se perciben todos los acontecimientos, y desafortunadamente éste ha sido el común denominador de la películas de comedia romántica de la actualidad, en todas he sentido que el final es apresurado y hasta sin sentido, y eso solo termina perjudicando al elemento romántico de la trama porque tristemente acabas la película no creyendote la historia de amor, y aclaro que con esto no quiero decir que la película sea mala, de hecho es super entretenida y divertida de ver y si eres una persona que no le gusta el romance cursi pero aún así quieres ver algo ligero para tener un momento entretenido, les digo que es una película perfecta para ese fin, solo que no es lo que yo estaba buscando, así que en parte me quedé con sabor agridulce 😕.
In addition to this, another element that I think did not favour the romantic dynamic of both characters, is the pace of the film, I feel that the story begins with an excellent pace but the closer it gets to the end, the more accelerated all the events are perceived, and unfortunately this has been the common denominator of romantic comedy films today, in all of them I have felt that the end is rushed and even meaningless, and that only ends up hurting the romantic element of the plot because sadly you end the movie not believing the love story, and I clarify that with this I do not mean that the film is bad, in fact it is super entertaining and fun to watch and if you are a person who does not like cheesy romance but still want to see something light to have an entertaining moment, I tell you that it is a perfect movie for that purpose, just not what I was looking for, so in part I was left with a bittersweet taste 😕.

Me gustó tu interpretación de los puntos débiles porque es lo que quería expresar y no encontraba las palabras, fue eso, el protagonista masculino se sintió como secundario y el romance estuvo muy apagado. También me pareció raro el final, por el tiempo que le tomo ir a su encuentro 🤷🏻♀️
Al final le faltó como explicación, él ni siquiera le dijo porque tardó tanto tiempo en aparecer en su vida de nuevo, definitivamente es muy secundario su personaje 🤔.
Está película la Vi ayer me encantó la trama de amor, solo que el protagonista no era el actor principal fue un romance como raro pero supongo que es parte de la ficción, pero la reflexión que me dió a mí es que todo puede cambiar la vida es un Boomerang gran elección

Exactamente, es un romance extraño, o sea no es lo principal en la historia, lo que mas resalta a la vista es el cambio que da la vida de ella, aunque igual es una buena película 😌. Saludos!
