Sometimes life takes you to an unexpected place and unexpected moments. While facing difficulties, life also opens door to more possibilities. It's perhaps the main storyline of this short South Korean series, " Would you like a cup of coffee?. Starred by a well-known actor in SK drama, Park Ho-San and Ong Seong-Wu, this series takes you to a warm slice of life journey of the cafe most loyal patrons and even those who happen to pass by at some point in their life.

This series isn't just for anyone, especially those who dislike sappy story and a mellow dramatic one but it is for those, who enjoys coffee as well as cozy series that tells about everyday live. As you can expect from the title, it is also intended for those who frequent coffee shop and found amusement even feeling relatable that you might find the customers are yourself or even found some encounter that is portrayed in the series.

Throughout the series, dominated by warmer tone, you would feel cozy watching it and the cinematography is of those cinematic and was made to be artistically pleasing. Unfortunately, there were some story line that should have been expanded but I can personally respect the writer to leave it up to interpretation of its audience. Despite its flaws, I would really still suggest to watch this series when you're looking for something easy to watch and pretty much relatable.

The plot while slow,it pulls you in as the narration expands and takes you to the main character's development and his personality. That doesn't mean the supporting characters are minor, there is a story and conclusion of each of the other characters who happen to visit this coffee shop called "2nd generation". Its location that is on the corner of an idylic neighborhood somehow was like those hidden gem cafe that perhaps lack of service but its coffee are of the best. It's one of the place that is cherised by those that knows its story and willing to be immersed into this cafe universe.

For those who frequent coffee shops, you can expect to see manual brews and how coffee shops culture are like in South Korea. You can find all sorts of patron as well as stories that they might have. This series is full of insight if you enjoy coffee and coffee shop too.

My personal favorite is a story about blog reviewer of cafe in South Korea. He's known critic who writes blog and they even discussed that though people don't really read something lenghty anymore, he was going against the mainstream and his critic wasn't always wrong. He was often right on his reviews even though he has a prickly personality and a through and through coffee snobs. You would not want to meet him in person but he knows all about coffee and that is his world.

It's why, I personally find this story quite entertaining and so relatable. I am a frequent cafe/coffee shop visitors myself and I found every characters I've seen at cafes I visited. If you're as obsessed as coffee like I do,this series is also for you.

I recently got a free VIP subscription to WeTv and finding some of its feature pretty unique. First of all, places like Viki, Viu, Netflix and etc aren't allowing direct screenshot from the place but WeTv has in-built option to do that. I am not sure if it has to do with the origin of the service but WeTv caters mostly to Chinese audience and its owned by Tencent. They don't have that many options for south korean series so it might not be worth it. Either way, I got it for free and has been watching Cdrama quite a lot 🤣 they have longer episodes but from what I remembered compared to a long time ago, mainland china drama has improved quite a lot. At the same time, WeTV also hosts some famous and viral Indonesian series that aren't on TV. I am not sure if it's available on other region but around this area, WeTV can be a great place to find drama/film from SEA and APAC region.

I have a little friend named Aura who loves coffee and likes drama.... she loves drama in every aspect ajja if there is no drama in her life it's not life... she is very victimized 😅, she would love this especially because of the title that already transmits a lot.

ajajaj so you're a fan of Korean dramas, I haven't watched any yet but I plan to do so to have the experience that is a Korean drama, I might like them and quite a lot haha.... what I did watch was a drama with Korean Zombies that was really good for me and I'm waiting for the second season ajajaj 😃

this drama is made for your friend 🤣 it fits all the criteria but less dramatic. I wouldn't say I am a fan but I watched a lot of them along with Chinese drama and some other countries drama. It's nice to see their culture and habit reflected in those thing oh and learning new languages too. What's the title of that one? there's this good netflix series called Sweet Home and they've completed all the season, worth to watch too.

we share the sympathy for listening to other languages, I like that too, in fact in my country the movie part everything is dubbed and wow that slows me down because I like the original language option, in the korean aspect I still can't get used to how they speak haha, the one I'm waiting for like crazy is squid game 😀

the one I saw is called "Estamos Muertos" is in a school and it's on Netflix, many plus points apart from the zombies 😅

Haha the concluding paragraph got me laughing, now you're watching more Chinese drama because of free subscription 😅 I wish I had that opportunity, maybe I'll get to see the improvements you talk about.

You say this is a series, it seem like what would fit into just a movie, I guess that's why it's slow but good you enjoyed it as a coffee lover.

I'm not familiar with the characters except the reviewer of cafe lol... Interesting one, might see it.

I was lucky I guess, my provider gave it for free could be because I spent a lot of money there too😂 If this one was made into a movie, it wouldn't be as elaborate as the series. I could rewatch this one without ever getting bored 😊 Thanks for checking out!

Haha I see, I guess it's like a "Thanks for spending so much until now" free 🤣
That's good to know, I hope I enjoy it just as much when I decide to see it.
