Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero que se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Hace poco vi una película que me llamaba la atención por los actores: Nat Wolff y Lucy Hale, además de que era una historia que parecía ser divertida y que podría ser una buena película sobre el romance entre dos desconocidos. Sin embargo, la película fue todo lo que no esperaba, sentí un poco de decepción, pero aun así me gustaría hacer esta reseña para dar mi opinión personal de este film llamado Which Brings Me To You.
Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are well today. I recently saw a movie that caught my attention because of the actors: Nat Wolff and Lucy Hale, plus it was a story that seemed to be funny and could be a good movie about the romance between two strangers. However, the movie was everything I didn't expect, I felt a bit of disappointment, but still I would like to make this review to give my personal opinion of this film called Which Brings Me To You.
Which Brings Me To You dirigida por Peter Hutchings y estrenada en el 2024 nos cuenta la historia de dos desconocidos que se encuentran por casualidad en medio de una celebración de una boda, Jane (Lucy Hale) es una joven periodista y Will (Nat Wolff) quien se dedica a la fotografía, se encuentran en esta fiesta por tener un amigo en común y empieza la relación de amistad-amor más tediosa que he visto en alguna película.
Which Brings Me To You directed by Peter Hutchings and released in 2024 tells the story of two strangers who meet by chance in the middle of a wedding celebration, Jane (Lucy Hale) is a young journalist and Will (Nat Wolff) who is dedicated to photography, they meet at this party because they have a friend in common and begins the most tedious friendship-love relationship I've ever seen in a movie.
Básicamente, ambos tanto Jane como Will desean tener una noche de sexo pero todo se detiene cuando Will empieza a enfrentarse con problemas para poder hablar sobre sus sentimientos, más que todo para hablar sobre su pasado y sus viejas relaciones amorosas por lo que en vez de terminar teniendo una noche de pasión Will decide hablar sobre sus antiguas novias y aquí empieza la parte tediosa de la historia, ambos cada vez que intentan acercarse para tener el mínimo momento de intimidad deciden sacar a relucir relaciones pasadas demostrando que ninguno de los dos a superado por completo sus corazones rotos.
Basically, both Jane and Will want to have a night of sex but everything stops when Will starts to face problems to talk about his feelings, mostly to talk about his past and his old love affairs so instead of ending up having a night of passion Will decides to talk about his old girlfriends and here starts the tedious part of the story, both of them every time they try to get closer to have the slightest moment of intimacy they decide to bring up past relationships showing that neither of them have completely overcome their broken hearts.
Por una parte me pareció diferente la idea de mostrar el lado más vulnerable de ambos protagonistas y eso es lo más rescatable de la historia. Lamentablemente, no hubo química suficiente en ambos o simplemente la trama y el guion fueron demasiado desorganizados. A pesar de que me gusta cómo actúan tanto Lucy Hale a quien vi en la serie Pretty Little Liars que más fama le dio, y donde me gustó su manera de actuar aquí en esta historia, simplemente lo sentí todo demasiado presionado. Nat Wolff lastimosamente solo a tenido papeles donde no ha sacado lo mejor de sí como actor y es algo triste porque él tiene potencial para hacer mejores papeles que los que ha hecho.
On the one hand, I found the idea of showing the most vulnerable side of both protagonists different and that is the most remarkable thing about the story. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough chemistry in both of them or simply the plot and script were too disorganized. Even though I like the acting of both Lucy Hale who I saw in the series Pretty Little Liars that made her more famous, and where I liked her acting here in this story, I just felt it all too pressured. Nat Wolff unfortunately has only had roles where he hasn't been at his best as an actor and it's sad because he has the potential to do better roles than what he's done.
Tal vez a algunos si les haya gustado la historia, dónde dos personas que no están disponibles emocionalmente intentan recordar y tratar de sanar viejas heridas con respecto al amor, algo que me gustó fue que mostraban las antiguas relaciones y enlazaban las escenas del pasado con el presente, esa parte me pareció divertida, pero no fue una película que disfrute, la sentí muy pesada y aunque hubiera esperado más de los actores la idea de la historia no estuvo lo suficientemente estructurada por lo que no hace que sea una película interesante de ver. El mensaje que deja para mí es que si no estás disponible emocionalmente ningún intento de tener una nueva relación va a funcionar hasta que logres sanar y hacer las paces con tu pasado.
Maybe some people liked the story, where two people who are emotionally unavailable try to remember and try to heal old wounds regarding love, something I liked was that they showed the old relationships and linked the scenes of the past with the present, I found that part funny, but it was not a movie I enjoyed, it felt very heavy and although I would have expected more from the actors the idea of the story was not structured enough so it doesn't make it an interesting movie to watch. The message for me is that if you are not emotionally available no attempt to have a new relationship is going to work until you heal and make peace with your past.
